Are you already collecting wireless information like wifi points and GSM antennas for #beaconDB?

Building a #bigtech independent database with such information is important for #DigitalSovereignty.

The #MobileLinux eco system already uses beaconDB for determining the position of devices when there is no #GPS.

@janvlug Do you know if there is a possibility to collect wireless information without Android? I have a Librem 5 but I don't see a good possibility to contribute.

@zwarf I also have a #Librem5, and do not use it yet for collecting.

But I should start doing it, as the GPS works very well on my new #Librem5.

There is somewhere an app for this, but you have to build the application yourself. I did not try that yet. It would be great if this app was available in repositories, or as flatpak.

Unfortunately, I cannot recall now the name of the application. I will try to find it.

@zwarf It looks like that Byzantium is too old for building #GeoclueStumbler:

I get:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
builddeps:. :
Depends: libadwaita-1-dev (>= 1.5) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgtk-4-dev (>= 4.10) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libshumate-dev but it is not installable

@janvlug Yes I just noticed the same. But it seems like ieverything is prepared for a Flatpak release. Maybe someone can put it there or I do it my self as soon as I have slightly more spare time again 😅
@janvlug Thanks, I have not yet seen this app!
