Jake in the desert@erosalie and for like, a LONG time, really, to be fair. "Christianity" is the major cause of issues in the USA, and I've never been more glad to not be talking to my Christian conservative parents, with the way things are going lately.

They want and need you to think that they are the “real” faces of Christianity, because it reinforces their corrupted idea of “being Christlike,” their paranoid sense of being “persecuted,” and their warped view of the differing people as unsavable sinners — and they use all of that to justify their hideous way of treating the world around them as if it were something to exploit based on their greedy ambitions, destroy based on their narrowminded absence of love compassion for the other, and escape based on their selfish desire for heaven only for themselves or those like them. Please try to notice and call out the distinction between corrupted versions of Christianity (or any religion/worldview) and its loving/ethical expressions, before our tendencies to conflate the two only leave us with the version that kills us all.

Looking for explanations…It’s not Christianity. It’s rabid ideologues trying to justify their hateful ideas by dressing it up with religion. This person would be a rabid fundamentalist in any religion in any culture.
