"Hi Daniel,

I've written a web fuzzer in c using your library libcurl. I want to thank you for writing a this easy to use, fast and good library. I'm 11 years old and I don't have much experience but your library made it possible."

there is hope for the future!
@bagder quick! Sign them up as a maintainer!
@daniel:// stenberg:// That's awesome! Congrats to the kid (and to you!)
@bagder When I was twelve the most I could code was some badly formatted automation Lua scripts
@bagder 👀 The kids are alright.
@bagder dang, when I was 11 I was still using BASIC.
@hyc and I think I don't even started to learn basic until a few years later...!
@hyc @bagder At that age, I hadn’t even thought of learning a programming language
@hyc @bagder I got my first own computer at 13, but I had been writing simple Basic code on other people's C64 machines since I was 8. When I got my first PC, I had to learn Locomotive Basic 2 for GEM because that's what came with the machine (Amstrad 1640 with a black and white screen that could do both EGA monochrome and Hercules, no hard drive, just two 5.25" floppy disk drives).
@bagder My son turns 11 in April and barely writes in English. 😭
@bagder
I'm much older and have many years of experience, but I don't know what a fuzzer is. Just the same, I appreciate libcurl very much.

@sloanlance
Typos as a Service ;)

Trying out malformatted input to see if something breaks. Not only pentesting as mentioned somewhere.
@bagder

@mwfc Made my day, thanks xD
@bagder Those are the best comments...
@bagder I wrote a web client for my schools delay timetable with libcurl in PHP around the same age. Good times.
@bagder @monospace I so want to hear that this kid submitted a pull request to libcurl!
@bagder these kinds of email are the best.

@bagder dang, i only started doing stuff at like 14

well i was still fucking around before, but that's around when i actually started writing any sort of code, let alone useful code

@bagder That's the sprit! 🙂
@bagder
I don't have clue what this exceptional young human is working on, but I know it's good!
@bagder This made my day. And it was already a good day!
@bagder You don't get better feedback than that!
@bagder I thought this was going to end with an ill-founded "vulnerability" report. I'm very glad to read this instead.
@bagder at half a decade older then this kid I was still mortified at the thought of writing in C. I still am today. But I seriousness, this is incredible, huge kudos to that kid and best of luck to em
@bagder well that is wonderful! 🩷
@bagder I used your library when I was 13 to make my first socket. I eventually learned how to manually do inet sockets but it really is a good library.
