@skye I couldn't decide whether that was the physical object or the software framework.
We've started to deploy Anubis on osmocom.org (redmine and gitea for now) in order to protect our servers against excessive load from annoying AI scrapers. See https://osmocom.org/news/307 for details.
Osmocom.org is now using Anubis to block AI crawlers - Osmocom.org Servers - Open Source Mobile Communications

LLM-generated code is shit. don't use it. don't accept it. don't propagate it. definitely don't generate it.

if the person who submitted code couldn't be bothered to write it, don't review it. blanket rejection is not just appropriate & efficient, it's necessary.

code lives in the minds of its developers, as mental abstractions that provide leverage on the domain. generating code without that mental labor is like building a lever without a fulcrum.

@soatok if there was ever a good use of AI slop, this is it.

It would be a real shame if thousands of people submitted totally legitimate incidents concerning Texas public schools for these Republican losers to sift through.

“The internet is full of smart people writing beautiful prose about how bad everything is, how it all sucks, how it’s embarrassing to like anything, how anything that appears good is, in fact, secretly bad. I find this confusing and tragic, like watching Olympic high-jumpers catapult themselves into a pit of tarantulas.”

@strongsand @soatok It may be better to actually make up bullshit instead of just spamming. It will take longer for them to notice & they will waste time on it.
@gcluley since the ethical and psychological concerns aren’t going to persuade the micro-managers of the world — maybe the fact that spyware is, invariably, without exception, a massive security hole will.

@crypticcelery
Those two I could give the benefit of doubt for a parody site (if that would be in any way effective is another story (TL; DR: no)).

But “«biological males» in women sports” is when the doubt evaporates.

(Or three quacks of if a nazi duck is a nazi duck: once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence, three is enemy action.)

After the Election, What's Next in Fighting The Far Right?

The Liberals win, but we are still facing down the consequences of the far-right taking the United States, and threatening us. With their supporters here. The next government needs to act.
