The Tegan and Sara Foundation provides microgrants to community-led 2SLGBTQ+ organizations in the US and Canada to funnel support to those who need it most and create a capacity-building network of organizations whose work is often missed.
https://www.teganandsarafoundation.org/community-grants
We launched Community Grants in 2020 as a rapid response to queer organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we have launched multiple rounds of funding dedicated to Black-led organizations, trans youth-serving organizations, organizations serving 2SLGBTQ+ survivors of intimate partner violence, and more. See the impacts of our previous grants and the work we’re committed to continuing here.
The Tegan and Sara Foundation is offering grants between $1,500 and $5000 to 2SLGBTQ+ leaders and small nonprofits. Our goal is to fund the projects meeting needs of 2SLGBTQ+ people through a diversity of programs, geographies, approaches and communities.
Grantees will join a cohort of 2SLGBTQ+ leaders and nonprofits across the country to support each other, and will also benefit from the institutional knowledge of the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
Do I qualify for a TSF Community Grant?
TSF Community Grants applications are open to 2SLGBTQ+ community-led organizations and small nonprofits with annual operating budgets of less than $300,000. We want to hear from small, and especially BIPOC, trans, and/or youth-led initiatives that have the drive and expertise to impact their communities.
US-based organizations must have IRS-determined 501(c)3 status or be fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)3 organization to be considered. Canada-based organizations do not need charitable status to be considered, but organizations that do have charitable status or are fiscally sponsored by an organization with charitable status will be prioritized in our review.

How to Be Disabled in a Pandemic Edited by Mara Mills, Harris Kornstein, Faye Ginsburg, and Rayna Rapp
Afterword by Judith Heumann
Foreword by Ed Yong
Open Access PDF + ePub
[Open Access] A chronicle of ableism and disability activism in New York City during the COVID-19 pandemicHow to Be Disabled in a Pandemic documents the pivotal experiences of disabled people living in an early epicenter of COVID-19: New York City. Among those hardest hit by the pandemic, disability communities across the five boroughs have been disproportionately impacted by city and national policies, work and housing conditions, stigma, racism, and violence—as much as by the virus itself. Disabled and chronically-ill activists have protested plans for medical rationing and refuted the eugenic logic of mainstream politicians and journalists who “reassure” audiences that only older people and those with disabilities continue to die from COVID-19. At the same time, as exemplified by the viral hashtag #DisabledPeopleToldYou, disability expertise has become widely recognized in practices such as accessible remote work and education, quarantine, and distributed networks of support and mutual aid. This edited volume charts the legacies of this “mass disabling event” for uncertain viral futures, exploring the dialectic between disproportionate risk and the creativity of a disability justice response. How to Be Disabled in a Pandemic includes contributions by wide-ranging disability scholars, writers, and activists whose research and lived experiences chronicle the pandemic’s impacts in prisons, migrant detention centers, Chinatown senior centers, hospitals in Queens and the Bronx, subways, schools, housing shelters, social media, and other locations of public and private life. By focusing on New York City over the course of three years, the book reveals key themes of the pandemic, including hierarchies of disability "vulnerability," the deployment of disability as a tool of population management, and innovative crip pandemic cultural production. How to Be Disabled in a Pandemic honors those lost, as well as those who survived, by calling for just policies and caring infrastructures, not only in times of crisis but for the long haul.
"Muin is one of 112 Palestinian children held in administrative detention by Israel, according to information provided by the Israeli Prison Service.
This is the highest number of children held in administrative detention on record since DCIP began monitoring the practice in 2008, the group has reported. "

“We’ll never know the answer why. Because what human beings could do what happened to Sam?" she said. "We'll never make sense of this case.”
New York authorities outlined an astonishing story of kidnap, torture and sexual assault in the killing of Sam Nordquist, a transgender man from Minnesota who was allegedly imprisoned in a small room of an upstate motel for a month before he died.

Help Abdelmajed Escape Gaza and Rebuild His Life
https://chuffed.org/project/124058-help-abdelmajed-escape-gaza-and-rebuild-his-life
My name is Abdelmajed, and I am a survivor of the war in Gaza. Everything I once knew has been taken away—my home, my safety, and the people I love. I have lost twenty-five members of my family, each of them a vital part of my life. The pain of their absence is overwhelming, and every day is a struggle to survive in a place where hope is fading.

"The act of forgetting has always been a tool of oppression. We cannot adequately resist that which has been revised, erased, or forgotten by our community members. But few will acknowledge that this is happening with COVID. Just as one may utter that “slavery was back then, get over it”, when we use verbiage like “post-pandemic” we are rendering oppression as a static past event rather than an ever-evolving present that shapes our shared future. This tactic has always been useful to those who wish to profit off of our suffering and the cycle will continue to repeat if we do not acknowledge and act on the truth of our current reality. If we do not reckon with our failures to each other around COVID and do the work to remedy it, are we better than those who try to ban our people’s histories’ from the schools? We aid in the crusade to forget every day when we do not consider the pandemic as both current and deadly."
