Mondira, she is from a Rimworld and joined the Union, because she believes that it is the best way to fight against the Eltaryn. Her Homeworld is a planet, that was colonized around 200 years ago by human space settlers that fled earth & had planed to found a paradise elsewhere, sadly the cryo pods & the propulsion systems broke, the planet, crashes on, lacks vital resources, they had to rely on Alien archeo tech to stabilize the earlier population by prolonging their live & rearranging their genes to diversify their pool.
Her world is the equivalent of what could happen to us if we don't change our society. Unbound capitalism in turbo mode. The world looks like a baren Rock and a giant coastal city.

Mondira is sort of a time traveler without time travel.

Depends on the SC.
The crew has an overall relaxed stance. They are a bigger family or a clan in a sense and of course some are more strict and straight forward than others. The overall approach on board is filled with jokes and friendly banter, sarcastic at times but filled with empathy.

I also would call it the LGBTQIA+ space party bus.

2333 AD London has some amazing beach clubs but Arkham isn't much interested in them. She prefers flying in her training Shuttles testing her skills.

2324 AD Kira and Anika where in the earlier stages of their Alliance training and had a lot of fun on weekends or on vacation, including bar brawls (which are staged entertainment for tourists and interested folks) but most of the times they focused on relaxing with friends.

2335 AD Kira, Arkham and Ashlei relaxing alongside the rest of the crew on an occasional Birthday party or Karaoke evening or whatever the crew comes up with to get on with their lives and relax.
Okay parts of Ash "relax" in the sense she parts resources to socialize with the crew while the Ghoz'Tarc itself keeps scanners up all the time and Ash Monitors everything.

Kira Knox: Cautious but friendly.
After all as a soldier of the Alliance you are trained to deescalate stressful situations but also defend the people in need, if necessary. So she keeps an eye out for unusual situations.

Arkham: Same as Kira but a bit more scruff, she doesn't small talk at all with strangers if it is not necessary and she rarely sugar coats anything if the person she is talking to isn't a child, but even then not more than necessary.

Ashlei: Have you ever seen a 178 ish meter Spaceship among other people?
On board, if strangers are around she mimics the helpful Service AI.

I am trying to keep track of my changes, as some might know or have an idea about how I structure my answers here on Mastodon, but, I am an agent of chaos in non digital places and tend to have a giant folder named download on all devices... Followed by download sorting one, two..., so every time I make changes I create a new document with the current date.

The actual documents im writing on are called StarRyde Draft 000.001 [Date] so I have no freaking idea but I will move to draft 000.002 someday, probably if I reach some arbitrary threshold I set up. But atm I'm not really writing more than prompt answers and try to figure out the shape of the Ghoz'Tarc and make it not look like a forking D!©]<.😤

Mondira: more thankful than pride but a bit pride is their, being on board the Ghoz'Tarc, being part of this Union/Alliance Crew and mission as someone from the most adversary Rimworlds that usually dump all over the Union and where called upon by the Union as the least wanted ally.

Her Brother, who has a hard time fitting in, standing up to the family and still holding contact with his sister.

583. Which of your characters are most likely to be activists, and what kind?

Most of them aren't but you could ask everyone on them why the Union is a great thing but that's it.

The thing is they trust the Union to best provide equality as needed, it doesn't make sense to grant a non oxygen breathing & water allergic species the human ground right to clean water. Sentient Skywhales don't need housing in the same way Terrans or Talithi need them. Instead their ground rights are tailored to their needs. As an example in contrast, a gender specific need is granted to the whole species, if someone don't need it's free sanitation products or similar they can spend them to whoever they feel like. This together with the war against the Eltaryn makes it relatively unlikely that people try to actively change stuff, however there are people but most likely outside of the military. Mayne Mondira could be considered one.

Kira:"It would be a poor choice to sacrifice the future of the Union, the lives of citizens or non citizens to save a small amount of people. That said I hope I never have to make such a decision... But if my sacrifice would make sure that others survive I would consider it as long others don't have to carry my decision."

Arkham:"They asked me this as I enlisted, I agree en large with Kira, as the main pilot of the Ghoz'Tarc my decision influence the rest of the crew as long I don't risk their lives or their well being, I would sacrifice my life to save others especially the ones I hold dear."

Ashlei:"For such scenarios I am programmed to evaluate the costs & benefits. As the ships AI "my own" sacrifice would be less problematic as sacrificing "my" body. The ship needs to survive."

For us that call themselves Terran we do this because we originated from a world that was dying thanks to humanity, thanks to wars, thanks to the Eltaryn. As mentioned before humanity is a tribal concept one we got rid off to better our selves & step up to the stars, to take a role as defenders."

Mondira:"I don't want to say it but in my eyes that's a superiority & empty pride talk if I ever heard one."

587. How much does your SC value communication in their relationships and / or friendships? Are they prone to being misunderstood?

A lot.
In the Union open, honest & straight communication is the key. Little is "spoken through the flowers" (German Saying for a polite metaphor). All 6 core species had to learn this which was especially hard for the Asza'ni. Aszal their most native language is a language that in its style is more like a song or poem. It leans heavily on connotation & picture plus the right scent. A sentence like "feiend look a moon rise" would translate word for word into "my hunting mate feast your eyes upon the beautiful children of our benevolent forelders." And depending on the meaning the right amount of enzymes to create the right scent for the meaning. Aszatrell is the basic standardized combined language of the Asza'ni & the Trellwa'ni who don't communicate via scents.

2 Android phones & a Windows PC.
The old android phone, is my notepad the current I actually work on.
Libre Office on the PC & sadly I am stuck atm with 360 Co pilot (used Kingston Office before but it turned into add hell on my phone) libre Office doesn't run well on my phone for what ever reasons.
Co Pilot will surely be replaced with something different on my new phone. I bought an app called Solid Explorer for Android years ago because it is a real simple & powerful organizer/file explorer for Android that allows me to open two different tabs in landscape mode to drag and drop files between them. Because Android & it's iterations started to p][ss me of with their limitations. 360 Co Pilot it is only because the former 360 office ran well & didn't started to stutter while using it also the text to speech helps me to find typos. Can't tell how many times I listened to my WIP since last November.😅

Well they would come together in a big pile. This situations are called Pinguining by the Brass, but since Pinguins are gone Dodo in 2086, Most people have no idea what it means especially outside Terra if Terrans barely know.

It's not uncommon for persons in the 24. Century to cuddle. There are even cuddle meetings/cuddle clubs etc they range through all layers of society and there are simply contact once, skin contact once, naked once and even some involving consensual sexual activity.

On board the Ghoz'Tarc the lines between fellow soldier and private person are very thin Doctor Kaiden and J. regularly cuddle despite both having no romantic or sexual interest in each other. Since Rose, Talisa, Anika & Kira where all together at the academy & at different points to-

2/2 gether with the same partners it's still common for Rose, Talisa, Kira and Anika, til she wants M.I.A. and occasionally J. to cuddle but it's barely enough space to that private outside the captains quarters.
Of course Arkham & Kira cuddle together later in the story. The machine room crew has a cuddle ritual to introduce people (like a sports team). Mondira isn't used to such close bonds since she comes from a pretty much cyberpunk dystopian world. Some crew members even have pure Sex meetings with others. Nobody is forced into this, and if they don't like cuddling, like Arkham at first they get their space. Sex of course is only allowed in the social units (diverse container modules installed for this mission) or quarters if given.

Ash as a Spaceship/AI can't interact the same way but Kira starts to gently touch her consoles on occasion, since they are pressure sensitive.

Mondira is the only one that might feel a bit weird onboard the Ghoz'Tarc. Since everyone seems super chill about their sexual or romantical identity. Her homeworld (the cyberpunk unbound capitalist dystopian Rim World) has laws for equal treatment regardless of gender identity expression, ethnicity, species or sexual identity but this laws are relatively new & where implemented to get a trade deal with some trader Union worlds done that are on the brink of getting associated members. Not that the society doesn't supports it but their is a large chunk of forever yesterday people. So she is not used to being openly about her bisexuality. She still can't believe that the captain is so open about everything, which is one reason she has developed a crush on her. She warms up a lot but it is still a bit uncomfortable.

Not sure I would call it that, I am interested in a lot of topics and often I just read, listen or watch stuff from the fields I'm interested in.
I have on occasion phases of hyper focused themes. But I don't look up stuff until I'm sure I know to less of something to depict it than Google it, use other engines too to see what comes out, watch some trustworthy feeling YT channels about this topic and read Wikipedia or other articles I come across others would call it research for sure but I also do this stuff for fun if I'm interested in a series as an example add on top that I seem to have a good but very selectional memory, not gonna lie covid has done some damage to that.

Confused looks throughout the crew as they read the today's psychological evaluation questions.

Not really, most of them already look how they want to look and are happy as they are.

Since the Union provides general base/ground income and most people work for general high base minimum wages on top, it's not a problem to look or live like you want.
And since medical bills don't exist, because the Union grands general in depths medical treatment, everyone can afford genetic modifications for hair and eye color, like Arkham did for her green and blue hair.

For the crew: Everyone is happy enough, about their looks even Mondira who comes from a non Union world.
If you want a rocket leg go for it. If you want a tentacle arm instead talk with your doc or a body modder.

It's both a reference, a turn about, and the metal monster of our own making that functions perfectly until a bug turns around and without malice blithely kills us. The good terminator robot that trips and accidentally splats us. I'm sure that we humans have had technology from before history that killed, maybe even to the first farmers that grew grain that got infected with a fungus, a smut, that turned out poisonous but they didn't know it.

That was a perfect distillation, delivered deadpan.
