Man, ADHD sucks... Every time I forget something I was told or something that happened a few minutes ago, I wonder if I have a brain parasite eating my frontal lobe in the memory section.

I get distracted and forget things. Like, I'd be cooking dinner for myself and listening to a conversation. I either forget the conversation or forget I had dinner.

I take medicine for it, but idk if it's even effective. I need something stronger.

I guess I really do only have 5.5 MBs of memory in my head.

My word, I have no idea how anyone achieves anything online independent of huge corporations. I'm working with the new version of a widely used ecomm platform. The underlying code is good (unlike anything running under WP), but so far I've offered a patch for their upgrade tool, identified a less than user-friendly issue with the upgrade process, and found a fairly serious bug, which I worked around with the most horrid kludge: manually adding stuff to the database. Then I patched a theme to fix something I found irksome.

So that's required: GitHub, PHP, PHPUnit, Bootstrap based SCSS with webpack, SQL, Smarty and a few other things.

I'm not exactly a "full stack" developer; I can rock the back end and know just enough to tweak things on the front end, but don't ask me to build something from scratch. Getting this thing going has tapped every single one of those skills.

But what if you're just someone with no development skills who is trying to get a small shop online? This leaves you out in the woods, and subject to paying Shopify (and similar megacorps) stupid money just to get a store that might never sell a damn thing going.

Hi everyone rant enclosed, see text of contents by clicking on ALT.

As usual am trying to save my world. For example food delivery guy is now using Mastodon. Probably also on Instagram too BUT is a start.

I am very impressed with world owned science. Not proprietary scams. Believe it or not we share a world in crisis (did you notice?) and we can be as responsible as possible given our circumstances, state of mind etc.

Many thanks to all our wondrous diversity and tech genius nerdies as ever.

So. Genug.

Meine Frustrationstoleranzgrenze ist überschritten.

Fibromyalgie interessiert keine Sau, ist wohl auch nicht wichtig genug, um als Nicht-Betroffene*r zur Kenntnis zu nehmen oder zu teilen.
Ich wollte trotz jahrelangen vergeblichen Bemühen dem Thema hier im Fediverse noch mal eine Chance geben. Nach einigen Monaten, auch wenn ich nach anderen Beiträgen zu Fibro suche, ist das Ergebnis ernüchternd. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So wie es sich mir darstellt, bedient man hier entweder die gängigen Themen, smalltalkt mit bissigen Bemerkungen, um so die Welt zu retten, oder man hat Pech. Chronische Erkrankungen bzw. chronisch Erkrankte werden auch hier nicht gesehen.

Ich lese alle, denen ich folge, und das fast jeden Tag, trotz sehr begrenzter Energiereserven. Was mir wichtig und unterstützenswert erscheint, teile ich. Klar, mein Problem. Aber wofür ist der Bums hier eigentlich gedacht?!

Der Austausch zum Laufen die letzten Wochen hat Spaß gemacht, aber da stand nicht die Fibro im Vordergrund, brachte das Thema nicht weiter.

Was ich mit dem Ganzen hier jetzt anstelle? Werde ich überlegen, wenn ich nicht mehr so wütend bin.

P. S. Ratschläge, was ich wie mit was und welcher anderen Software oder Hashtags „besser“ machen könnte, sind ausdrücklich nicht erbeten. Und es geht hier nicht um Mitleid und DuziDuzi, es geht um Sichtbarkeit, verdammte Hacke!

It's terrifying how many well meaning Irish pages don't see who they are getting in bed with, even when followers are alerting them. Oh no, not alerting "creating division."
