In friction, you can setup a layer to be the child of another.
It is the equivalent of the whip parenting in #aftereffect

@tonton @friction In Blender 3D you can parent objects together by selecting the children objects first and then selecting the parent object last. Then press Ctrl-P and the "Set Parent To" menu will pop up allowing you to link objects together.

Yes of course, but this is not the same usage, with an animated character for example :
- A group will allow user to move two (or more) layers together, the entire character could be in this group
- A parenting will allow user to move parent object and have child follow (shoulder for example would be the parent of the forearm to have it rotate accordingly)
@tonton @textovervideo @friction In a funny way adopting "universal" shortcuts is somewhat similar to how different technologies uses similar protocols, #activitypub for example.
If #foss applications could "own" a keymap like #blender as a standard. Anytime a user picks up a new #foss app it is already familiar and adoption is much more likely.

@textovervideo @tonton @friction in the case of #blender the shortcuts are even the same throughout the different workflows, which are almost like different applications, so arguably will work for most uses.
For example the VSE, compositor, 3d view, animation NLE, use standard keys.
