@timsmalley wow, what a gorgeous study
@sangster thanks very much πŸ™
@[email protected] Beautiful, characterful tree and great photos. I wish I had such a lovely tree nearby.
@timsmalley I love these kinds of pictures. Obsess away!
@Archergal thanks Janice ❀️
Beautiful pictures! Reminded me of my obsession with the trees by my old house πŸ₯° https://thomasrigby.com/posts/three-trees/
Three Trees

My own obsession with trees

@timsmalley Little known fact: British people have a biological compass, otherwise they wouldn't even find home half of the year. Love the summer one, so cozy πŸ˜‚
@timsmalley I love the way a tree changes over the year. I did a pastel study of one that had interesting branches when I was in college. I have 3 beautiful pictures. When I came to draw the final picture, half of my tree had been cut down!! I still drew it but it wasn’t the completion I wanted. Still makes me sad
@JoyceHumphreys oh man, that must have been so frustrating! 😍

@timsmalley

Really beautiful, love to see all of it's expressions

@timsmalley That's a pretty cool tree tho. Worth the pixels fer shore.
@timsmalley Ooh that winter one is the best. 😎
@ColesStreetPothole thanks, yes, that morning was a special one! ❀️
@timsmalley fantastic, congratulations!
I'm currently searching for my white whale but do you have any tips on how to get consistent framing? I plan to use a fixed focal length and hope to mark the tripod feet with rocks if the location allows for it.
@shom thanks a lot. I use What3words to get close, and then just look at the framing of previous photos (plus EXIF) for exact focal length. I have 9 or 10 photos of this tree, and the framing did change a little over the whole series, but not significantly so.
reminds me of a friend's favorite lone tree next to a dirt road
@timsmalley Beautiful, thank you for this gift. I can see clearly the Tree's Character Development.
@timsmalley I love both of these! Thanks for sharing you two!
@timsmalley that *is* understandable with such a gorgeous tree *_*
@timsmalley I can tell the second one was shot in Lovecraft Country.
I know your obsession so well 😁
