This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Gigantspinosaurus.

It was found in 1985 by Ouyang Hui near Jinquan, and reported as a Tuojiangosaurus in 1986 by Gao Ruiqi and colleagues.

It wasnt until 1992 when Gigantspinosaurus was described and named by Ouyang for an abstract lecture. But the name was generally considered a nomen nudum (not recognised as a species) in the west.

In 2006 it was disclosed that the abstract contained sufficient description to be recognised as its own species.

This week for #Fossilfriday we have another #Guess that #Lego #Fossil.

This one I would rate as easy. This Chinese dinosaur is known from the Jurassic.

The Tiangong Space Station may be visible Thursday morning as it passes over the Bay Area! It will come out of shadow 41° above the western horizon at 4:35am, reach an elevation of 65° above the northern horizon at 4:35am, and set in the east at 4:41am. Forecast currently predicts 67% cloud cover.
