It's hard to beat Ikea on the cheap. More often then not Ikea is as good or better than the other cheap stuff for less money. Especially when you are moving half-way around the world and don't have the time to shop around.
@hacks4pancakes Price and quality’s there.

No Canopy Bed? Spare bedsheet... thumbtacks... done... 🤪
@hacks4pancakes IKEA is fine for most things. Local options to take a look at include:
https://www.fantasticfurniture.com.au
https://au.koala.com (their furniture is nice, but their mattress is only “ok”. It does sleep cool though, which is a consideration)
@hacks4pancakes Always is.
I'm pretty sure we're sitting around 90% Ikea stuff with the exceptions being 1 desk, 2 office chairs and a couch.
@hacks4pancakes UTESPELARE!
I do like the flexibility / cheap / massive desk area of an interior door on two nice sawhorses.
You could Thrift store (some) stuff... and look on "local" give-away/ resale shops, pages, etc.
- maybe check out apps/ sites like "Buy Nothing," Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc.
Nah, mate!
Kmart is the go - check out the search results for "Kmart hacks", the internet is chock full of fully sick ideas!
@hacks4pancakes do they not have trash nothing or free cycle down there?
Craigslist free section?
Thrift stores, yard sales?
I've outfit more than one place with castoff furniture
@hacks4pancakes Will you need a dining table? I've got one that's real wood and everything, it's only a "four person" though and that's being pretty generous, but for an apartment it might work if you even need one.
I'll be using it as a desk over Xmas but after that it'll be about time to move it on, if it's helpful I can save it for ya.
