A thing that deeply troubles me about the people in my field is that they’re telling me that programming doesn’t give them a sense of purpose, challenge and fulfillment—instead the great beautiful future is yelling at a simulated human slave until a barely working piece software materializes, made from a million shards of stolen work.

LLMs are mansplaining as a service, but more specifically that type of mansplainer who googles your question and replies authoritatively with the first result that comes up, despite having zero understanding himself.
The problem with being a huge nerd who grew up in the '80s and '90s, but who has since become an adult is being torn between the two perfect aesthetic forms of home computer existence - maximalism or minimalism.
