My thoughts -
“Intelligence” - we haven’t even got a good definition of what that is.
Computers are just a knowledge base. They don’t have life.
That’s the movies talking.
Perhaps this statement needs an update:
In three to eight years the average human will have the intelligence of a current general machine intelligence.
@bruces these people don't understand what Intelligence is, the question reminds me of the one people asked Deep Thought in the Hitch Hikers Guide about the Universe....we don't really understand the terms of Intelligence to say that we have replicated it.
Plus, Minksy is a nonce, so fuck what he thinks.
With so many people being educated at institutions that prioritize teaching people how to calculate how many angels can fit on the head of a pin, I think AI has reached this milestone, not because AI has improved, it’s just the decline of the average human capacity that made it a reality.
