My "overly idealistic and naive" take: Deliberately targeting a desalination plant is in essence the same thing as deliberately targeting a school or a hospital. If there is ever a time when a military intervention half way across the globe is somewhat justified, it would be to stop this from happening - NOT to perpetrate it ourselves. And two wrongs do not create a right in this, Iran's attacks on desalination plants in Bahrain & Kuwait, in supposed reprisal for the apparent attack on Iran's Qeshm Island facility are ALL wrong, and should not be followed up with US threats to continue the war crimes in this.
