Uh oh. Just heard a segment on the local NPR station mentioning Parthenogenesis. I can’t hear that word without this song getting stuck in my head—not a complaint.

Back in the 90s I used to occasionally see a VW Bus that looked just like the yellow one around town. I’ve never been into cars, but I kinda wanted one.
Now there’s an electric version.
For only $249,000!

We could have loved you,
Found out your names
And brought you presents…

A particularly nasty way of committing suicide.

Kind of surprised I haven’t seen anything about this story here.
After climbing over the fence a ‘pedestrian’ was hit by an airliner while walking on a runway last night at Denver International. Apparently they were sucked into an engine, causing a fire.
A possible suicide? How do you walk onto a runway at night and not notice the large jet coming at you?

A person has been killed after being struck by a plane on the runway at Denver International Airport during takeoff. The Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to Los Angeles reported the incident late Friday night. Frontier Airlines stated that smoke was reported in the cabin, leading pilots to abort takeoff. Passengers were evacuated via slides and taken to the terminal. According to the airline, the Airbus A321 carried 224 passengers and seven crew members. The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified, and the runway will stay closed during the investigation.
Bonus pics.
Here’s a couple shots from Summer of 1985 taken at the Strategic Air Command Museum in Nebraska.
The 1st is of a XF-85 Goblin, a short, egg-shaped jet fighter made to be carried under the wing of a bomber, it could be dropped, and would be recovered by the bomber.
The 2nd is of Avro Vulcan bomber XM573. I had forgotten it was there, until I found my old photo album a few years ago.
