Been thinking of starting a blog/newsletter to vent my thoughts without character restrictions (or annoying people with MastoNovels).
What platforms are good for this now that substack decided to be a nazi bar? Not looking to charge anyone to read, so no subscription architecture is generally necessary.
Suggestions very much appreciated.

@comradevlast #Ghost is probably your best bet for something like substack. Available in both hosted and host-your-own styles. I see that you understand the value of #hashtags, so Bear blog and Micro.blog are out. #Write.as and #pikapage might be worth checking out.
There's always #wordpress, but Matt Mullenweg is working pretty hard to drama it to death.
@SteveDuncan Thank you for the suggestions! From my own research Ghost is definitely looking like the most attractive option.
Shame about Wordpress... It's been a staple as long as I can remember and, from what I can gather, what's happening with it now is remarkably unnecessary.
@comradevlast Yeah, I'm still on #WordPress because jumping to something else is a lot of work...but I hate feeling like I'm keeping a petulant toddler in business. So I self-host. I hope to move to a static site generator when I figure out how get the publishing process working with #Ulyssesapp.
AND, #Ghost is working on #ActivityPub integration. So there's that.
