@hacks4pancakes My experience is that that's accurate more often than not.
@hacks4pancakes I find it's usually that way these days.

@hacks4pancakes

Pretty much always, in my experience.

@hacks4pancakes sometimes people with tattoos go to church.

@hacks4pancakes I grew up as the latter, and can absolutely confirm.

That said there was an old thoroughly tattooed vet who also attended my church, and he was the *chillest* dude.
I miss him.

"There's no hate like Christian love."

@csstrowbridge @hacks4pancakes my socially conservative mother who hasn't gone to church or voted for a Republican in 20 years still has to stick her nose up and express her disapproval of tattoos when she sees one. Publicly declaring what you disapprove of, for possible social standing, was fundamental to her generation. (sigh)
@hacks4pancakes My church is full of lovely tattooed people. So I guess that all stereotypes can be subverted.

@hacks4pancakes I often think of Keith from the prodigy. Hugely talented but beset with self doubt. Used to help his elderly neighbours and yes he had tattoos; all round good bloke.

Compare with "Christian" Jacob Rees mogg. A despicable human hiding behind a veil of religion.

Do not judge by appearances, they are deceptive. Often deliberately

@hacks4pancakes The key is the word "sometimes". So make sure you never generalize.
@hacks4pancakes Remember to not judge, books by covers or any other sort of parameter.
@hacks4pancakes One church I know has a nice pastor with tattoos and some other church I know have some people who aren't nice. Interesting! :
@hacks4pancakes Some people with tattoos are showing off their white supremacism. Mostly holds true though, all the worst people I have ever known were devout church goers

Was travelling out west with my wife.
A biker who looked like he could literally rip a limb off of me and beat me with it saw us coming into a restaurant. He held the door open for us. It was morning and he looked like he might be on his way to work so I was especially surprised.
In addition to the tattoos, I would say the truly strong and the most powerful tend to be the most kind.
My dad was like that. He was a big man who saw the horrors of war.
Hate tends to be the sanctuary of the weak.
