It's really a #Railbus #Schienenbus. I like the overhead racks. They allow the interior to be perceived as very airy and spacious. You could hold a conference or teach a class in this space.

It's all very scenic, remote but also alive. People get on and off at every station. This rural line clearly serves the needs of local communities.

A cute station selection so far on the #Trstená - #Kralovany line.
Arrived in #Kralovny, beautiful station hall. Train to #Trstená is turning back. #Ex606 #Tatran to #Bratislava is announced with 30min delay... I was planning on changing to a faster #IC, this will not be possible anymore. But #Tatran also has a restaurant car, so hopes are high I'll get something to eat.
Also I love the printed carriage position indicators. Childhood memories...

Service is however a bit strange. The staff sat together for a chat at a table, and it's just by walking up to the counter that they made themselves available.
Now seated in the 1st class compartment, as we pass #Puchov. #EC122 to Prague on the other platform. Next stop is #Trencin.

@jon Hopping through #Bratislava hlavna stanica to Bratislava-Petrzalka because of construction works. There is no ticket machine in #Petrzalka. The person at the desk has been there for a decent 15 minutes... Another 45min before the train to Vienna leaves... #CrossBorderRail #CrossBorderTickets #TatryAlpy
Got my ticket, and yes, I could have bought it on the #ZSSK app or website. But I don't understand why #ÖBB cannot sell it, if they sell it in the other direction?! One cannot expect every member of the public to download 27 different apps for 27 European countries!
Now off to the "Internationaler Regionalexpress" as the announcement calls it. Two EMUs, one belonging to #GySEV / #Raaberbahn and one to #ÖBB. Obviously choosing Raaberbahn for the sake of originality. The ÖBB one continues to Deutschkreutz, the GySEV ends in #WienHbf, which is my next stop.

Well well well I was VERY lucky to be back in #WienHbf 30min before departure... Because the timetable of #EN40462 has changed and moved forward to 22:58. This was however not shown in the #ÖBB app! Even Swiss app is confused... I wonder how many people missed their Night Train tonight...

The couchette compartment of #EuroNight #EN40462 was a former DB one run by #Hungarian railways with the blue #couchettes. Four out of six being sold. Aircon was working ok for most of the time, but not all the time... Managed to get some sleep 💤 At #Buchs, I got interrogated by Swiss customs. Guten Morgen #Schweiz!
And off to #Landquart, very short ride on #IC3 #SBB EW-IV. 😍
#Landquart is where metre gauge network of #RhätischeBahn #RhB starts. Three EMUs for #Davos and Scuol-Tarasp. Trains are ** of course ** very tidy, great interior... 👌🇨🇭

@teresahenke @jon Trainline verkauft es wohl. Und die slowakische Website ist zwar irgendwann auf slowakisch, aber verkauft das auch zum ausdrucken.
Und Schalter in Petrzalka geht auch, wenn die Schlange nicht zu lang ist/man Zeit hat.

Wollte vor 2 Wochen auf der slowakischen Seite ein durchgehendes Ticket von einem anderen Ort nach Wien buchen, dabei ist sie ständig abgestürzt. (Aber da muss man ja auch mit der Straba von Hl. Nach Petrzalka). Daher erst mal Ticket nur bis Bratislava gebucht. Jetzt stürzt mir Trainline bei Bratislava-Wien ab
mal sehen, ob ich es in der kommenden Woche noch schaffe, sonst wohl doch mit Zeit in Petrzalka... Noch nicht so ganz die durchgehende Reisekette.

@teresahenke @jon Oder ticket ab Kittsee buchen ;-) das österreichische Team ist erst später zugestiegen. Ist natürlich riskant. Aber besser als den Zug in B.P. zu verpassen.
