I'm used to the new CT scanners at airport security. Fast Track at Heathrow Terminal 5 doesn't have them yet. It felt weird. They found my bottle of water and threw it.

Back at Frankfurt airport. Today I'm flying to Seoul with MIAT, a Mongolian airline. I've got a fifteen hour layover in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. My hold bag is checked all the wait to Seoul.

I had the unique experience of joining in with milking the horses.

The nomads keep foals tied to a long rope fixed to two stakes on the ground. At milking time, they detach a foal and lead it to its mother, allowing it to drink briefly before starting the milking process. My guide, Buyna, was the one doing the milking.

Unlike milking cows, which involves sitting on a milking stool, milking horses requires a fabric knee pad for kneeling on the ground.

While planning my trip to a #Debconf24 in Korea, I discovered an affordable flight via Mongolia. This presented a chance to visit a place I'd never imagined seeing. While there is only one daily flight from Europe to Mongolia, there are multiple flights from there to Seoul, giving me flexibility. I chose the schedule with the longest layover to maximize my time in Mongolia. Arriving at 5 AM, I had until 8:30 PM before my onward journey to Seoul, giving me a full day to explore.
