One of the cool things about long-distance, ground-based travel with the #foldingbike is that you can get up to some quite random excursions when you have some time to kill.
I am on my way back from #ecprgc25 in Greece and after arriving in Ancona, Italy by ferry, I had about four hours to kill.
On the map I saw a "Garibaldi Fortress" on a hill overlooking Ancona, which sounded pretty cool. So I went for a little ride. The fortress was definitely not in a state Garibaldi would have approved of 😅, but the cool thing was that I found an enjoyable bit of gravel to explore around Ancona in the process. I really like to explore these spaces just beyond the city, they are often very interesting assemblages of beautiful and mundane, lively and strange places.
