Halp! I might be slightly colour blind.

Why does the 4½p stamp colour look almost identical to the 4p stamp?

Like in no universe is that colour (of the one on the left) turquoise.

Edit: it is a 14P... the one is almost perfectly obscured XD XD

The others say "Deutsche reich" and this one says "Dienftmarke" why?

It is because this stamp was used for official government mail. Which is interesting af because I have Pakistan stamps that have "SERVICE" printed in red on them and THEY are for exclusively governmental use.

The word "Dienftmarke" means "official stamp" or "badge of office".

I find it very strange they didn't just overprint the stamp with something similar to the Pakistani one.

I went to the antiques place today and was kinda dismayed to find there were hardly any stamps.

They had loads of coins and even bookmarks (really? yes.) Unfortunately I believe stamp collecting is in decline from what I've heard and that's kinda sad but I'm glad I'm joining the hobby.

Brought around maybe 300 today. And found a few Weimar Germany stamps.

They are over printed in 250 thousand, 2 million, 2 and 5 billion.

How interesting is this!!!

It is a postcard stamp from Bavaria in Germany. I kinda just assumed it was so old that it was before perforatated stamps were a thing, but it is actually a stamp printed onto a postcard.

Kinda neat idea! Save the need to buy a stamp and a postcard.

It is from between 1892 and 1906. You can tell it was from a used postcard as it has cool writing on the back. It also shows it was in a stamp book at one point too!

So I now collect stamps :3 and now my sister does too. I got a bag of like 500 for christmas which I've still not sorted through.

I was gonna go to an antiques place today to buy some but it was closed. Luckily I found a charity shop that sold a few pages of an album someone donated.

I brought two pages (stamps on both sides) and Princess Diana ones. About £13 altogether.

I'm tryna build topical collections.
