SCOTUS: homeless people can’t sleep outside

SCOTUS: POTUS can’t forgive student debt

SCOTUS: women don’t have autonomy over their bodies

SCOTUS: EPA can’t regulate the water

SCOTUS: POTUS can assassinate his political opponent

#AbortTheCourt

@GottaLaff how many people will POTUS need to pardon because they are found liable for carrying out official acts
@GottaLaff It's not just that the EPA can't regulate water - it's that the President can't carry out the law enacted by Congress. He can't do anything without a law - so he will need a series of what will be called Enabling Acts...

@GottaLaff The Student Debt thing is my brain breaking.

If it's not a crime, it's legal. If it's legal, abolish all of it. Now.

And exec orders for abortions on demand, everywhere. Not a crime, thus legal.

oy we are in deep doodoo

@pixelpusher220 I'm having trouble coping right now

@GottaLaff hugs! I feel the same, truly mind boggling.

Olympic gymnasts don't bend and twist themselves that much

@GottaLaff @pixelpusher220 Same. I'm so angry!
@otownKim I'm so terrified. @pixelpusher220
@GottaLaff @pixelpusher220 I want to leave so badly, but my Daughter is a Sophomore in College. I can't leave her here!
@otownKim Our sons went to college here in Canada (they'd already gotten their Masters, but had to go back in order to get a work permit). Why can't she do that? @pixelpusher220
@GottaLaff @pixelpusher220 She's happy at UCF. Her Dad is supposed to be working on Italian citizenship, she'll leave eventually. But she's happy now.
@GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220
Biden should just do his thing via executive acts. If the orange one is immune, so is Biden. The hell with it then.

@locksmithprime
"Seriously, Pres. Biden needs to take this little 'immunity for official acts' protection out for a little spin," said writer Charlotte Clymer.

Hell yeah! I've been saying this for a minute. You GO Joe! #DarkBrandon to the rescue 🛟

@GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220

@MKSinSA @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220
Right? We have to be righteous but not naive. If my opponent can kick me in the groin, then so do I.

@MKSinSA @locksmithprime @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220 He can't, he doesn't have it in him.

The Democratic party is entirely hidebound in unwritten rules of conduct. They are somehow honorbound to lose every dirty fight.

@gooba42
I somehow think Jill's not on the kinder, gentler train. I take her as a 'take no prisoners,' 'aw hell naw' kinda gal who is Joe's top advisor. If I'm wrong, flog me!

@locksmithprime @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220

@MKSinSA @gooba42 @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220
Jill Biden put herself between Biden and someone who was aggressively approaching him at some rally or interview time ago. She has the fight instinct.

I was in the "peace and honor" side too my whole life, until I started training in Krav Maga. Krav Maga is very pragmatic. They say "this is no sport. This is no competition. This is self-defense. Someone is trying to hurt you, or kill you. There are no rules. You fight, you fight at the limit of your aggressiveness, you annihilate your opponents. You stop when either the opponents are reduced to a pulp, or have just about enough voice to say 'stop'."

There was a similar line in that Jennifer Lopez movie "Enough", and that was Krav Maga.

@locksmithprime @MKSinSA @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220 My self defense philosophy is not to fight unless I mean it and once started, the fight ends when the other side lacks either the will or the ability to continue and not before.

@gooba42
As is mine. I cannot abide movie scenes with all the chatter before making 'the move.' If it's defense, there's no time for all that nonsense. Thank you.

@locksmithprime @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220

@MKSinSA @gooba42 @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220
Of course there is the whole "James Bond" path in which the villain goes to great effort to fully explain their plan of domination and thoroughly describe the methods through which they will execute the plans and kill Bond, all the while assuming Bond is not to react but listen attentively.
@gooba42 @MKSinSA @GottaLaff @otownKim @pixelpusher220
Correct. De-escalate, get the heck out of there. If not possible, then it is on.
@pixelpusher220 @GottaLaff ELI5 Wouldn't these be official acts?

@GottaLaff

I like that last one.

@GottaLaff Clearly with the latest Supreme Court ruling, Biden should do an Official Act of arresting Trump for Treason and if he resists arrest shoot him and anyone who gets in the way of doing it.

Or maybe slightly less violently, do an official act of firing the 6 insurrectionist, treasonous, political operatives on the Supreme Court and replace them with others.

Or just add 5 more Supreme Court justices.
@rberger But he won't, so why ask.
@GottaLaff
Yep. The decent guys want to stay decent.
@rberger
@GottaLaff We should be demanding he (and all Democrats) do something in response to the Supreme Court’s power grab, and not act like its normal.
@rberger Sure, but what?
Robert J. Berger (@[email protected])

The Supreme Court and the Republican Party in general is out of control. No one is forcefully telling them NO! We can’t expect the politicians or the media to take action unless we push them hard. We must organize mass demonstrations across the country demanding what we know is right and as extreme as can be to move the Overton Window back where it belongs. * Removal (not recusal) of all Trump Appointees in the Judiciary * Reversal of all Trump Supreme Court rulings… (1/3)

Hachyderm.io

@GottaLaff @rberger Because somebody has to let them know that we can still see the right solution even if they refuse to enact it.

We see them doing the wrong thing and it matters.

@GottaLaff That last one could actually come in handy.

@eleog No.

NO.

Unless, of course, you want Trump to have Biden assassinated.

@GottaLaff If SCOTUS rules that POTUS can assassinate his political opponent, Biden's next presidential order should be a no-brainer. 🤷

@GottaLaff: That is a scary list but unfortunately accurate at the moment.

As disturbing and shocking as these decisions are, we need to remember that historically SCOTUS has been conservative, or even reactionary for much of our history. @Teri_Kanefield covers some of that in this informative post.

https://terikanefield.com/some-sad-news-and-a-bit-about-the-supreme-court/

It's well worth reading to put SCOTUS's decisions into perspective.

The other thing we cannot forget, hard as it is sometimes, is that the courts cannot solve our political problems. Only we the voters can do that. If enough people want democracy to work, it will survive. That means we all have to keep doing our part to defend it with more democracy. Not less.

You're certainly doing yours. The rest of us have to step up and do ours as well.

** gets off of soap box because it gets crushed under the weight of the moment **

Some sad news (and a bit about the Supreme Court) - Teri Kanefield

This week, JJ died suddenly of a pulmonary blood clot. You wouldn’t have known from his puppy looks and constant puppy energy, but he was a senior dog diagnosed with bronchitis and a heart murmur that was getting worse. Given how suddenly and peacefully JJ passed, the vet said it was most likely a pulmonary […]

Teri Kanefield

@goodreedAJ @GottaLaff @Teri_Kanefield The VOTERS can fix it? Doing our part? DEMOCRACY? Dude, we're not IN a democracy. There is no representation for the left, only for conservatives and moderates. How, exactly, does voting within our current system actually change anything?

(Obviously, do vote for Biden, though, to at least slow the decline of America into fascism for four more years)

@Staren While I see your point, "How exactly does voting ... change anything"?? Seriously? Let's see: Voters got Trump in and now we have this SCOTUS.

Sorry, I have zero patience for this today. #Blocked #Toodles

@goodreedAJ @Teri_Kanefield

@Staren @goodreedAJ @GottaLaff @Teri_Kanefield "How, exactly, does voting within our current system actually change anything?" got us to where we are today.

Alt-right thanks you for your non-participation.

@GottaLaff last checked: EPA mandate - ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION! I thought water was part of environment and part of EPA. A person has autonomy over own body, both men and women (ESPECIALLY during pregnancy). Homeless are that way due to not having own homes, make them have safe place (preferably a job for own home). Student education needs MAJOR reform, starting with loss of debt. Universities also needs to be given changes in ways they perform.
@GottaLaff if the POTUS can do political assassinations, Biden has the oppurtunity of a lifetime to do something really funny
@GottaLaff sending seal team 6 after Tump, 3+ Supreme Court justices, and Republican leadership in Congress could bring back the days of the early Reconstruction, when there were no conservatives to stand in the way of progress
@trevorthetuba You're suggesting violence?
@GottaLaff I think that the previous generations had time so solve these problems without blood, but thry didnt do enough and now radical action must be taken to put us back on track. We are on a ticking clock from climate change, people will die, the only question is how many.
