@libreoffice
Thanks!
I know some people that may benefit from this, looking forward to informing them and getting their feedback.
@libreoffice A couple notes. I created a .docx in LibreOffice (recipient required .docx), exported as Hybrid PDF. Opened the PDF in LIbreOffice. It correctly opened it in LibreOffice Writer! Made some changes and re-exported. Can do this multiple times, hooray!.
Note when you open a .docx Hybrid PDF and do a Save or Save As, it wants to save it as .odt. This is fine, but something to note if your recipient is expecting a .docx.
Thanks for a great feature.
I was so excited for a #polyglot...alas...π€£π€£π€£
@sagir42 @libreoffice it will. Depending on the structure, content and features of a doc, the increased size is anywhere between "insignificant" and "magnitudes".
E.g. some complex object with large amounts of data that outputs a simple chart might use megabytes of storage in ODF and a few kilobytes in the PDF. So when the ODF is embedded it'll increase storage significant. Such cases are rare though.
@libreoffice I'd rather I could just embed a video in impress without hassle/crashing all the time.
I love Libreoffice and have used it for years but some of the simple gaps after all this time are astounding.
Cool feature!
Can you elaborate if this hybrid pdf will conform to the ISO standard for file attachments to pdfs?
Also, given that the latest iteration of the specification for pdf/a also allows for arbitrary attachments, will hybrid pdf/a also be possible?
Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
