Apropos of nothing, corporate communications make me nauseous.

@w7voa Interesting language.

"we are going to get our company back on the track towards recovery and stability" is CEO-speak for "this shop is currently circling the drain"

@slothrop @w7voa I was at SGI from approximately its peak until after the first bankruptcy. CEO Bob Bishop liked to talk, at every allhands, about how changing the course of an established company was slow, like changing the course of a supertanker headed for a beach.

Unfortunately he continued to use the metaphor long after we had ground up on the beach and the tanker had fallen over on its side leaking oil everywhere.

@w7voa
This would be a good time to test one of those golden parachutes.
@w7voa should get a gold spray painted model of a 737 Max rather than a golden parachute
@w7voa

Until board members and C-suite members can be sued for safety-endangering negligence, shuffling out leaders, like this, is just a PR exercise. The same "maximize shareholder value at any cost" philosophy that has led to this recent spate of incidents will continue apace (if not accelerate).
@w7voa A lot of other management needs to step down, too, for starters. Boeing has been neglectful of safety repeatedly, presumably from cost-cutting
@w7voa I bet he's given a massive golden parachute and not a single thing will have been learned. #Boeing
@Lazarou @w7voa the golden parachute was probably established when they signed on. There is really little “skin in the game” for leadership despite companies demanding it from their workers. The golden parachutes allow for CEOs to take crazy risks with the fundamentals of the company.
@w7voa don't shake it too hard, bolts and stuff might start flying off...
@w7voa he has decided to spend more time with his money.

@w7voa

Two execs down, 344 to go. And none will do prison time.

@w7voa @lisamelton put some engineers back in charge
@w7voa How many millions of dollars and what other special perks is he getting in that golden parachute?
