Oregon has done all voting by mail since voters passed a ballot measure in 1998. Earlier this week, my wife and I voted in this Tuesday's state primary from the comfort of our dining room table with the voter pamphlet, open laptops, cups of tea, and a cat. And the county election board has sent me a text saying that my vote has been received and counted.

This is what the GOP fears, people voting without intimidation or standing in long lines as they reduce the number of polling places.
