So today’s a great day to introduce our #cat Marshall on #Mastodon because this morning he saved our lives! @nowafflecone and I were playing video games this evening and we noticed Marshall was clawing at the door to our utility closet. I was like man… that’s weird… so we opened the door and took a whiff, and it smelt like natural gas. We evacuated ourselves and called the gas company, they came and found out our water heater was leaking gas

Funny how they're often the first to notice when something goes really wrong. I once had my cats go into hiding in the best possible place (under the bathtub), something they never did before nor after, when an arsen was going on in our building, on the floor just below us. We probably would have noticed much later otherwise.

@bcoffy @nowafflecone They’re so smart. I call my cat my service cat because he stops me from ADHD hyper focus. If I am scrolling too long he will jump on me, scream at me, and if that doesn’t work he actually drags my phone arm down with his paw or teeth. ❤️
