The fuck you will.

There is literally no good reason for elon musk to have biometric, work history, and schooling data about the twitter user base, but there are a plethora or rather in fact an UNENDING NIGHTMARISH TIDE of bad ones. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-08-31/x-plans-to-collect-user-biometric-data-job-and-education-history

X, Formerly Twitter, Plans to Collect User Biometric Data, Job, Education

X, the social network that used to be known as Twitter, updated its privacy policy to include a new kind of user data it plans to collect: biometric.

Bloomberg
Between this and Patreon requiring creators to upload identifying images which their 3rd-party partner Jumio then claims the rights to use to train their facial recognition "AI," and the unfortunate lack of response about all of that from the EFF, I'm seriously trying to figure out how to initiate an FTC suit.
*Bangs Pots and Pans Together While Wandering Around Screaming* ALL OF THIS IS BAD. ALL OF THIS CAN BE STOPPED. EVERY SINGLE PART OF THIS IS BAD AND CAN BE STOPPED.

Twitter's new privacy policy takes effect 09/29/23, giving them the right to use your posts & all of your data to train musk's "AI."

Elon Musk's. "AI."

If you're still over there, now is the time to request your archived data, delete your posts, and stop using that site.

Once again: regardless of what country I live in, I should be able tell twitter or any other company to delete my data, and then it should be GONE, and someone should be able to CHECK.
@Wolven the real right to be forgotten

@Wolven I’m so lucky to be European 🇪🇺

Even if… it doesn’t go as far as allowing me to CHECK…

@Wolven Because they suspended my account, I can’t delete anything!

@Wolven "To make X the service you know and love."

Fuckers

@danhon @Wolven I initially thought you were kidding, until I saw this was an actual quote. This is some next level corporate speak turd wrapping.
@Wolven ...wow, did they really manage to make something harder to navigate than a wall of legalese under the guise of "friendly" design
@arestelle I should have been clearer about it, but that's why I included the "view source" part": The html is, i shit you not, easier to read.
@Wolven oh TIL! clicking just took me to the standard view & I didn't know you could do that to go straight to source code :)
@Wolven
Oh how I wish I could get all the connections I've made over the years off from #Fakebook and #Twitterdumb
😭😭😭
@Wolven … deletia … sigh is not a big enough word … really … HA! good luck …

@Wolven I am so glad that I got the chance to use https://semiphemeral.com/ before that megalomaniac fucker broke the API so it had to shut down.

It allowed me to delete all my likes, delete all my tweets, and just let me leave one thing there for his AI to learn from - my final tweet explaining why I was abandoning the hellsite forever.

Semiphemeral

Automatically delete your data from tech platforms, except for what you want to keep

Semiphemeral
@BernardSheppard @Wolven I guarantee they will still have copies of everything people 'deleted', unfortunately.
@depereo @Wolven Recency bias will teach Musk's AI that Musk is a Cunt and should be used as payload for a falcon heavy test for solar surface missions.
@BernardSheppard @Wolven do you know one can delete its tweets now?

@BernardSheppard Did the same today using https://redact.dev and also left one final tweet giving the context followers

Unfortunately, semiphemeral does not work anymore: “But sadly, a reactionary billionaire took over my habitat (the Twitter API) and for some inexplicable reason spread toxic waste (hate speech, science denialism, crypto scams, etc.) across it at an impressive speed. It's no longer a livable environment, so unfortunately I was forced to shut down my service.”

@Wolven He UNDELETED ALL MY TWEETS after I deleted them with a combo of tools and manual deletions months and months before. Do you happen to know if anything is still working?
@Wolven (nvm I'm just trying everything)
@kissane What? 😳 If you find a tool that works let us know.
@zbrando https://redact.dev is working well so far!

Will it remove Twitter likes? I didn’t see that capability. I had to use a script in chrome console to remove likes on Twitter, with built in lags to avoid being throttled. After removing the max allowed (a few thousand iirc), I couldn’t access my older likes to delete them. But every few days as other people deleted posts a few more old likes would appear on my profile.

@Wolven

Do you know if there's a way to bulk delete everything? Or do you have to go through it one by one?

@cavyherd @Wolven I've been working on deleting one by one for many months. At some point, they stopped letting me have access to my posts, and I have to wait weeks for the next batch I can access and delete.

It's infuriating.

@Wolven I support leaving x-twitter for any reason at this point, but I’m skeptical post deletion will remove them from the archive won’t wants to use for training. Only a legal challenge can probably prevent that.

Better still might be to post random garbage from chat gpt, etc. Let Elon’s monstrosity train by consuming garbage.

@Wolven

I hope the "precocious abacus" as the poet called it chokes and dies on the content of my two archival accounts.

@Wolven
I'm extremely glad that I already had a service deleting every tweet I made a few months after I made it... especially because you can't run that service any more because of X's API bullshit.
@Wolven And then they'll still used archived copies of your data to train the AI. We've already seen major instances of deleted user content in Twitter coming back.
@Wolven is there any way to mass delete posts? Also if I post a link to my archive on my twitter will that be enough to keep my old posts from being used for AI? I still want my friends and fans to at least be able to see my old internet presence.

@Wolven Is there a way to put one's post on archive.org entirely?

Cuz whilst I want to #AssetDenial #ApartheidEmeraldBoy, I do want to archive my own content.

@Wolven @Em0nM4stodon my evil plan is not to consent. But I guess it would not stop #xitter … 👿
@Wolven I disabled my account months ago but I didn’t delete my tweets (actually I started but erasing all was a nightmare), am I too late?
@Wolven i'm glad i made that step months ago and requested my posts to be deleted. Otherwise "Musks AI" would get some major racoon input and could maybe behave like that?Otherwise, it would maybe have been good to leave my racoon tweets? 😂🦡
@Wolven i agree with your call to action. However will not every commercial other platform use their data for training AI models i am wondering. Also are data analytics "OK" then ?

@ErikJonker @Wolven Almost as if the problem is the whole damn system or something.

#SurveillanceCapitalism #PeopleFarming #SiliconValley #VC #BigTech

@aral
Indeed it's all by design but we can't blame capitalism for everything, it's also about the characteristics of public data and internet in general
@Wolven

@ErikJonker

Mastodon posts are probably being used to train LLMs as well.

@Wolven

@lightspeed @Wolven .. indeed, public posts are public data

@Wolven (With the caveat that deleting your data will not really delete your data and Elon will likely use your data to train his AI anyway and the only way to stop him is via regulation like the GDPR, which we have in the EU but we’re not enforcing unless @noybeu sues to have it enforced.)

👍

@aral @Wolven @[email protected] Challenge accepted! Let's all go over there and fuzz the data so much the #AI is an idiot‼️ 🤩
@Wolven Really wish I had done something to delete my tweets before I deleted my account two months ago. The account is past the point where I could reactivate it, and I can't see any tweets in the browser but it wouldn't surprise me if they were only soft-deleted.

@Wolven You know - don't you - that above 50 GB all you get is just a bunch of UNmanaged files. Don't you?

Also, my blob was 185 GB back in Nov 2022: today is simply too big to be downloadable via my FTTC

Sorry-but-not-sorry: #NoTwitterArchive

@Wolven wondering how feasible it is to turn my account into a bot that posts random excerpts from the library of Babel... https://libraryofbabel.info/
Library of Babel

A project towards a universal library. By this art you may contemplate the variation of the 23 letters.

@Wolven deleting will not save the data from being abused, will it?
@Wolven Better: deliberately post wrong data to screw up their training

@Wolven I saw this first and was like I AGREE!!! before I even knew if it was tied to a specific thing. But now I REALLY agree and hope to god there’s a winnable lawsuit somewhere in the future.
