Here in the US we should raise the driving test standard to that of Germany and the minimum age to get a license to 25 for men and 23 for women. The maximum driving age should be 70 (I'm 80, so no special pleading here).

Give priority (direct/cohesive routes) to the public transport / human size mobility networks. Deprioritize car-centric networks when these networks meet/overlap. Set speed limits in towns and cities at a low enough speed for the streets to feel pleasant. Design the streets for the speeds that create comfort for all participants.
