Supporting access for people who want to ride bikes and have safe streets

It’s time for bike share in Ottawa!

Our transit system is in crisis and our roads are congested. Bike share can help! A quarter of trips in Ottawa are under 2 km—well within bikeable range. Bike share is affordable, accessible, and efficient.

There are a few things you can do:
1. Email David Hill ([email protected]) councillor for Barrhaven. Tell him to push for safety measures citywide. Suggest away.
2. Call Doug Ford (647-612-3673), ask him to bring back speed cameras.
3. Join @visionzeroottawa.bsky.social @forourkidsog.bsky.social other like-minded organizations. 3/3

Vision Zero Ottawa

If our elected officials cared about the safety of people outside of cars, starting with our kids, we wouldn’t need crossing guards. Our streets would be safe regardless of human error.

But here we are. A crossing guard lost their life on duty. We should all be outraged. 1/3

What better thing to do on a Sunday afternoon than ride in a snow storm, do some board media training and ride home on snowy roads. ❄️

Always good to learn how to better communicate and get our point across. 🎤

Women changing cities

Happy to see women recognized for their expertise, advocacy and meaningful contributions towards better cities.

Proud of our own Cassie Smith, VP and founder of Kidical Mass Ottawa.

Also hats off to Koko Agborsangaya (Black Girls Biking Ottawa) and Jill Wiggle (CAWI) in Ottawa. And a wink to Rebecca Denley in Yellowknife whom we had the pleasure to meet last year.

Thank you all for what you do.
