Far-right Twitter influencers first on Elon Musk’s monetization scheme

The first beneficiaries appear to be high-profile influencers like Andrew Tate, DC Draino, Ian Miles Cheong, Benny Johnson and Ashley St. Clair.

@taylorlorenz Reminder: Narcissists love attention, more than anything else. His accusations are just confessions.
@ninavizz @taylorlorenz it needs to be done regardless, but calling out his support for fascists just helps him attract and retain more fascist users
@taylorlorenz congrats on getting Elon mad
@leonardwongly Making Elon cry isn't actually that hard, but I'm glad TayTay did it nonetheless https://twitter.com/weezmgk/status/1618352706766385153 @taylorlorenz
Comrade Weez (@weezmgk) on X

The world's richest manbaby cracked the shits with me criticising him for spreading the vicious 'gay lover' conspiracy crap about the midnight hammer attack on 83 yr old Paul Pelosi in his home. instead of apologising for his stupidity, he 'permanently suspended' @weezmgk.

X (formerly Twitter)
@weezmgk @leonardwongly @taylorlorenz Elon Musk, famous champion for free speech, as long as it doesn't criticise Elon Musk, or his friends, or conspiracy theories he believes in, or politicians he supports, or his political affiliations...
You know, that free speech.
@taylorlorenz There's no way that human being does any real work for any of the 172 companies he supposedly runs.
@randfish @taylorlorenz
That lad never felt the weight of a spade.
@taylorlorenz Have we tried telling him to his mum? I bet that's gonna work.
@mclaurentiu it kind of worked with the fight against Zuckerberg, so, maybe...
@taylorlorenz
@mclaurentiu
His mum is a large part of his problem
Telling a person repeatedly from the age of 4, that you are a genius who will change the world is bad enough, but telling an ASD person that.... It's no wonder he's displaying narcissistic tendencies.
@taylorlorenz
@taylorlorenz Somebody got the big mad. 🤣
@taylorlorenz woopsiedaisy someone doesn't like smart women doing good work!
@taylorlorenz Envious, I think. Your superpower of forming a sentence without sounding like a complete idiot must astonish him.
@taylorlorenz That’s when you know you have hit a nerve, great job!
@taylorlorenz Make a blowup of these, have it framed and ask #ElonMusk to autograph it.
@taylorlorenz Wowww, he’s definitely CEO material
@taylorlorenz
I love he's calling his own BFFs liars
@taylorlorenz you do wonderful work, thank you for that.
@taylorlorenz Liar Lorenz is like a nickname trump would give to a journalist. Nice work!
@gourdlock @taylorlorenz I noticed that, too. Someone's been taking notes.
@taylorlorenz
The weirdos don't know where I live and I have a spare bedroom in case you need a place to stay.
Of course you don't know if I'm weirdo too so I don't know what to tell you.
@taylorlorenz
Musk has a very protective horde. His directing anger towards you is Trump like. A too common conservative tactic.
@taylorlorenz he talks like he’s the bastion of truth after being a chronic liar all his career.
@taylorlorenz Cut him some slack! He’s had a really rough few months and also has the physique of a boiled potato
@taylorlorenz you know if only he had a press office he could respond to your claims
@taylorlorenz damm, if that's not some kind of badge of honor, i don't know what is.. 😅
@taylorlorenz i just twitted your article, i hope not to end shadowbanned

@taylorlorenz And to think they used to just post there for free.

Just another desperate stunt to try to keep Twitter relevant.

@taylorlorenz Thank you for your hard work. The weight of his negative karma will bear down on him more and more as he continues to abuse his worldly power, and his false faith in money (instead of love) will fail him more by the day as his negativity affects more people by the day. He has fallen in a trap of his own making, forged by his selfish idiocy and commitment to an evil ideology. And, just like Trump, nothing is worse for him than the naked truth.
@taylorlorenz Wear it as a badge of honour! 👍🏾
@taylorlorenz He could refute it by showing a far-left influencer getting paid. He must know dozens, as he is the master of fairness, truth, and balance.
@numbertheory @taylorlorenz Even then, he'd have to prove that he didn't pay and value the far-right influencers first, which would be extremely difficult partly because it's hard to prove inner feelings but mostly because he definitely pays and values the far-right influencers first and his behaviour shows it.
@numbertheory @taylorlorenz that's probably why the person being paid has to be a bluetlicker. I'm sure the lefties haven't paid for the subscription
@taylorlorenz 🎶 Someone's getting a leeetle cran-keeee!🎵
@taylorlorenz please dont put in the newspaper that he got mad.
@taylorlorenz Now you know you've made it to the big time - Congrats! Thanks for all your hard work and the excellent article - I reposted your story on kbin.social to get it as wide an exposure as possible on the Fediverse. I fully believe that this is part of a larger effort by Musk's Saudi and Russian investors to influence the upcoming elections. If you could do an expose into his financiers, their political abuses, and their long term strategy when it comes to swaying popular opinion, your readers would be grateful.
Twitter is paying far right high profile creators, including Andrew Tate, thousands of dollars for posting to the app - Internet - kbin.social

The first beneficiaries appear to be string of high profile far right influencers who tweeted before the announcement how much they’ve earned as part of the program. Ian Miles Cheong, Benny Johnson, and Ashley St. Claire all touted their earnings...

@taylorlorenz He really said:
@ForteXD @taylorlorenz it always amazes me that billionaires nowadays care so much about what other people think. In the past billionaires were usually old recluses who absolutely ignored any positive or negative views on them. Takes specially low self esteem to get triggered on the internet, and especially so if you’re super rich… he needs therapy or something
@taylorlorenz that’s been the problem all along. EloM thinks he can buy the world, and recreate society according to his whims. His money will get him a long way, but he doesn’t have an original thought in his head. He’s filled with dreams derived from sci-fi novels, where he can be King.

@taylorlorenz that’s just … how employment works????

“My boss is bribing me to build software for him!!!!”

Edit: I should clarify that my comment is specifically in response to Elmo’s ridiculous “WaPo is bribing Taylor Lorenz” take

@taylorlorenz Is he really calling a journalist getting paid for doing their job bribing.
@taylorlorenz i see he refuted your lies with accurate credible data that cant be disputed🤔 oh hang on im a moron😶
@taylorlorenz Elon needs some preparation h for that butt hurt.
@taylorlorenz I've started blocking all my faves on twitter so I won't be tempted to spend my time and attention there.
@taylorlorenz If Elmo calls you a liar it must be true...
@taylorlorenz There is one question which we can ask Elon Musk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4D1zHPBBQY

@taylorlorenz your article is full of falsehoods though. Elon had announced this ad profit sharing plan back in February, but most importantly it's not only right wing people getting the money, but also left wing, but you failed to mention that in your article. Unless you consider Brian and Ed Krassenstein far right now? They received more than double of what any of the people you listed in your article received money wise.

Please try to be accurate in your reporting, otherwise it's pointless.

@Barroux no, this isn't a "both sides" thing. Paying ok people to post ok things is fine, paying terrible people to post terrible things is bad, that's the difference.
@unlofl and who gets to decide what's okay and not okay? Most of the people who got money aren't far right, they're just right. Regardless Taylor was being disingenuous at best and full out lying at worst.
@Barroux no, we all get to decide, and writing an article is one way to tell people. There is nothing disingenuous here, just a specific criticism you don't like and want to dilute. Twitter is paying bad people, when they could simply choose to not do that.
@unlofl Writing an article that's full of lies absolutely is disingenuous. She made it sound like this was in response to Threads, yet this was announced back in February. Taylor isn't being unbiased, this isn't reporting.

@Barroux "The timing of Musk’s announcement comes on the heels of Twitter rival Instagram announcing that its Twitter-like app Threads had surpassed 100 million sign ups..."

No, it doesn't say what you're mad that it says.
