@nocontexttrek I think this is my favourite quote from all of Star Trek.

@steve @nocontexttrek

Right up there for me with "ugly bags of mostly water" and "death to the opposition."

@nocontexttrek oh yeah. I'm using this instead of the principal skinner meme from now on.
@SomeGadgetGuy @nocontexttrek
I'm not really sure, were the children actually wrong?
@nocontexttrek this is one of my favs!! I screenshotted when watching the episode... and she was right!
@nocontexttrek the good doctor is ready to join a JRPG and go on a mission to kill god.
@nocontexttrek We’ve all had THAT coworker…

@joshua @nocontexttrek What is the nature of the Universe?

The Universe is a single repository that works on my machine.

@nocontexttrek Same energy
@DrakkenZero @nocontexttrek Completely opposite energy, IMO. The first fits people who are always made to feel wrong for not existing the way society wants us to. (Trans & autistic people, for example.) The second fits people who can't admit they are ever wrong -- the rest of society that treats nonconformists like garbage being one example.
@hosford42 @DrakkenZero @nocontexttrek
I completely agree with your take and that's how I see it as well, but I also couldn't help but think of that meme.
@nocontexttrek this is such a fun episode! Damnit… now i want to go watch the series all over again. Ugh. I think I watch it all once a year it seems. Lol! This is all your fault!
@D1g1talDrag0n @nocontexttrek I'm currently watching it again but dubbed into German. This way I can pass it off as language practice.This is the same way I justify reading crime novels in other languages.
@admin @nocontexttrek that’s a great idea! I may try the same as I’m trying to learn Spanish again. Lol!
@nocontexttrek I feel like this every single day.

@nocontexttrek Sending a message back in time to the TNG writers’ room in 1990: You. Can. Make. Good. Beverly. Episodes.

Troi too, just stop saddling her with Lwaxana every season.

@invalidname @nocontexttrek While brainstorming, ask yourself, “Do I really think an episode described as ’the one with Beverly’s family heirloom candle sex ghost’ will age well?”

@kitchens_sync @nocontexttrek Remember kids:

Geordi's holodeck girlfriend episode: good.
Beverly's ghost boyfriend episode: bad.

@invalidname what? This Bev ep.is awesome!?
@nocontexttrek Sorry if I wasn’t clear: I think this episode is great, and there should have been more great Beverly episodes than there were. It proves that you can use her as a protagonist, that she can carry an episode.
@nocontexttrek I reject your reality, and substitute my own. 🤣👌💯
@nocontexttrek
Really, she needs to be telling Wesley this. So he can reconfigure the deflector array to.. {technical jibber jabber}
😎
@nocontexttrek always a classic, always a favorite!!!
@nocontexttrek The woke *and* the alt-right in a nutshell

@sevrugaa @nocontexttrek "The woke"...

Do you understand why we exist? Because people tell us we are wrong just for being ourselves. They treat us as inferior, and walk on us. So we got sick of it, and decided not to put up with forced conformity anymore. I'm a human being, and not being like you doesn't make me any less of one. Saying there's something wrong with the rest of the universe is just another way to say, "I'm done with any society that refuses to accept my humanity just because I'm not what's expected."

Being "woke" just means being aware that this kind of crap happens, and that it's pointless. All your demands that we look and act like you in order to have value as human beings are arbitrary. You happen to be in the majority, but there's no law of nature that it had to pan out that way, and there's no law of nature that says being different makes us worthless.

@nocontexttrek me coming to terms with existing under capitalism
@nocontexttrek lookee what's in my gif folder

@nocontexttrek @TicklishHoneyBee one of my favorite episodes.

“Design flaw in the ship”

@nocontexttrek Sounds like Tim Pool’s life. 😂 https://youtu.be/yy0xpBqyDWo

@nocontexttrek This cost me 45 minutes of my time. I'll be billing you.

It was a little obnoxious that they didn't question her *at all*. It would have been so easy to have a scene with Troy ruling out schizophrenia or delusions. They needed that one sentence in there earlier.

@nocontexttrek unironically one of my favourite episodes.
@nocontexttrek Reading the other comments, this seems to be a bit of a Rorschach test. Do we see a narcissist unable to admit they are wrong? Or do we see an outsider fed up with being mistreated just for being different?
@hosford42 @nocontexttrek or someone who has watched all her compatriots on the ship vanish one by one as her brain processes the loss of an old friend?
@admin @nocontexttrek lol yeah, there's always that option
@aworkinglibrary Lol I quote this episode SO OFTEN. Both this bit and "Here's a question I bet you can't answer" and "computer, what is the nature of the universe?"
@aredridel It’s truly one of the best episodes!
@nocontexttrek This image is strangely resonant with a video I'm making, but not in a good way, sadly.
...maybe there's something wrong with the universe

@nocontexttrek This is my favorite TNG episode.
@nocontexttrek This is my favorite Star Trek quote of all time!
