@whatstheruckus @emptywheel Guo hasn't been followed up on by MSM. I saved this stuff a while back and happened upon it again looking for something else.

Bannon/Guo really surfaced for me when Bannon was arrested on Guo's yacht -- first time Steve ever looked like he'd had a bath and clean clothes in years.

IMO MSM gives China short shrift in espionage/active measures issues. But the traveling show Flynn and the Gang put on is alarming to me. Eric Prince runs training ops in China, as well.

@emptywheel Am I missing something? If the laptop deletion was successful in Feb 2019 as this log of messages seems to claim, there should not have been any files on the laptop to be recovered in April 2019. Maybe blocks of data, if it wasn’t encrypted. But not files.

@jpanzer Then they load it back up! With some altered docs.

So. the laptop MacIsaac gets is in fact, Hunter's laptop, but also has been doctored.

@jpanzer That's one reason I'm so obsessed with teh booted imaging--bc that may have been designed to obscure how stuff got reloaded.

@emptywheel 🤔 Taking a step back, control of the laptop in this scenario is completely compromised, so there is no chain of custody on this data even before it gets to the computer store.

I mean, the whole "computer tech's" story of Hunter abandoning it after a specified date means it's his is fishy enough, but that would not mean he can hack Hunter's "cloud" storage legally, does it?

@emptywheel Now, I'm a complete moron when it comes to tech data and such, but I watched the incredibly detailed evidence presented at a murder trial this year (Alex Murdaugh); iPhone records were presented by S.C. Law Enforcement Div. data retrieval experts mapping every step, mile, location, and phone orientation movement, and more, second by second. It convicted that killer with no problem.

How is it that FBI don't have ALL of this from Hunter's stolen phone and laptops?

Too bad apparently nobody subpoena’d that info; it’s lost now.

@emptywheel it would be very interesting to find out what payment methods were used for any financial transactions in there. Biden's credit or debit cards? ITunes gift cards? Any way of identifying where any such gift cards might have been purchased and activated or how they were paid for? IIRC last time I replaced my phone I had to re-add payment options to Apple Wallet.

I'm suddenly having quite a lot of fun with the Hunter Biden laptop story these days.

The evidence now points to a cabal of Russian sex workers using (conjecture) an unconscious HB fingerprints to turn over the laptop to hackers who remote backed it up, edited the contents and specifically alerted the repair guy.
The laptop does seem like it was HBs but it was remote backed up, remote wiped and remote replaced with the earlier remote backup with a bunch of edited documents.

But to be clear: They didn't make the copy of Hunter's account.Apple did. Then wiped the laptop so they could rebuild it.

When you say, "they didn't make a copy", you're just clearly stating the lack of evidence as to WHO initiated the backup, right? Apple doesn't generally make backups on their own initiative.

@emptywheel To any cyber professional familiar with basic forensics, John Paul Mac Isaac's story has been deeply problematic. He destroyed any chain of custody foundation within minutes of his exploration, rendering the laprop useless as evidence.

Anyone who entrusts this narrative should not be trusted with real responsibilities.
