@robb sorry, not a grammar issue, a typographic one.
Apostrophes (and quotation marks) should be angled, not straight.
If the symbol just goes straight it’s just for referring to feet or inches.
(The rule is okay to ignore in general, as long as you’re consistent)

@BenRiceM Now imagine you’re German, and you get confused between normal German quotes „“, German print quotes »«, Swiss-German quotes «» and English quotes “” (note the closing quote in English is like a 99, while the closing quote in German is like 66 in Serif fonts).
I *always* have to look up which is which.
