@jentaub
You know, today’s republican.
There is no bottom to these authoritarian pricks.
They are the enemy of decent honest people.
So not so wonderful.
The Koch’s and Mercers are also Nazis
the line to nazi worship for republicans is not always short and direct, but it's always there.
@jentaub I am sure Crow's defense is that he's a collector of all things tyrannical and autocratic. Like his priceless archive of Republican politicians.
Hitler artifacts... OK.
Signed copy of MeinKampf...ok.
Assorted Nazi memorabilia...hmmm.
A garden of despots. OK he's bad. BAD! Unless he has a ¡REALLY! good explanation and I'd like to see him wriggle out of this.
About Thomas and his wife there's not much doubt, they are drogues on Democracy and Clarence need to be removed.
Oh the friends we keep!
This sure add some texture to Clarence Thomas’s bio.
@jentaub Looking for other sources on the story and found this short article by David Frum from 2012. Is this... satire?!

@pattykimura @sstrader @jentaub
David Frum is not the firstJewish enabler of fascism, and will not be the last one:
Remember the grotesk Trump defender, attorney clown Alan Dershowitz?
@sstrader @jentaub I would bet there is no communist memorabilia inside the house; it is all outside exposed to the elements while the Nazi stuff is protected indoors. He even gloats about the outdoor statues being damaged.
I used to work at an auction house and have met plenty of people like this, always white conservative men who are "interested in WWII and history" but only Nazi artifacts.
@jentaub Alt text:
When Republican megadonor Harlan Crow isn't lavishing Justice Clarence Thomas with free trips on his private plane and yacht (in possible violation of Supreme Court ethics rules), he lives a quiet life in Dallas among his historical collections. These collections include Hitler artifacts-two of his paintings of European cityscapes, a signed copy of Mein Kampf, and assorted Nazi memorabilia-plus a garden full of statues of the 20th century's worst despots.

makes more sense than not... it's who they are...
So, it seems the Supreme Court is now owned by a Bond villain?
As in, there is a Bond villain who literally has a garden of despot statues:
"Your mission Mr. Phelps, should you choose to accept it."
Dun da da da da da
@jentaub I lived in Austria during my Year Abroad program in college. At a flea market I had seen a copy of Mein Kampf for sale. I told my professor who said I should have snapped it up.
I told him, because I was not a WWII scholar, I didn't. It would look pretty damn creepy on otherwise eclectic bookshelf and I definitely would have felt weird about it.
But to have a signed copy and paintings? Not only beyond expensive but pretty fucking creepy.

P.S. you could edit this into the original post as alt text of you wanted to.
@jentaub Thomas claimed he & Crow "have been friends for two decades" and that all the trips, jobs & gifts he receives are simply b/c of their friendship.
If Thomas is *truly* that stupid and genuinely believes Crow would be his friend if he weren't a SC Justice, he might also be too stupid to not notice Crow's Hitler memorabilia or affinity for Despots. 😞
Given the connection between US and German Nazis in the 1930s, and the resurgence of US fascism today, I wonder how it became possible that the US joined the European allies to go to war against Nazi Germany.
My guess is that it was more about defeating Nazi Germany and restraining the Soviet-Union in the competition for global power, and less about being missionaries of human rights and democracy.
When I see a Nazi and his friend I'm actually just seeing two Nazis.
