This tweet from Substack, which does not contain any links to Substack, is being restricted by @[email protected] and Twitter.

Twitter is not allowing anyone to reply, like, or retweet the message.

So Musk is not only suppressing speech, he's also suppressing discussion of his tactics

I’ve been spared for the moment since my Substack has a custom URL. But this loophole likely won’t be available long. Sign up now to keep up with my reporting

Taibbi, who is in regular contact with Musk, was told Substack is being punished because of “a dispute over the new Substack Notes platform”

Taibbi was “given the option of posting articles to Twitter instead”

@juddlegum Because Musk is a scorpion…
@juddlegum more gaslighting, trying to clean up his tattered journo rep
@juddlegum it’s kind of like he’s advertising with these antics

@juddlegum This is like the “when you’ve lost Walter Cronkite” moment for the Vietnam war*

-if Cronkite were a soulless husk of a self promoting disinformation peddler who continually made sloppy mistakes.

@juddlegum ha-ha-ha! “given the option of posting articles to Twitter instead”. Even Taibi isn't going to do that. Who does Musk think will?
@juddlegum Another face eaten by the leopards.
@juddlegum I'll give him 5 minutes before he changes his mind - as soon as the grift drops into his bank account.
@juddlegum I never thought the leopard would eat MY face!
@juddlegum Wow, Matt. Bet you didn't think the tiger would eat YOUR face.
@juddlegum and then...*sad trombone noises*

@mstevens86 @juddlegum Please, please, please remove the blue checkmark, Mr. Musk

Be that petty!

@juddlegum

Mat Taibbi, the one who worked with Musk to promote deliberate disinformation about pre-Musk-Twitter (aka the #TwitterFiles), is getting bit in the face by Musk-Twitter's new policy.

Did Taibbi not know that Musk was part of the "Leopards Eating Faces" party? Or did he think that the Musk leopards would never eat his face?

#Karma #Twitter #Musk #ElonMusk #Taibbi #MattTaibbi

@juddlegum Oh boy, this means the end of the Twitter files, because Musk will not countenance such an open insult
@juddlegum ah, a member of the Wolves Eating Faces party is once again surprised to see their candidate eating someone's face.
@juddlegum lol dispute. More like forcibly suppressing competitors, just like he did with mastodon. The quicker journalists abandon that platform the better. Turn it into a right wing echo chamber.

@juddlegum “Taibbi, who is in regular contact with Musk…"

Tongue-attached-to-boot is a form of contact, I suppose.

@juddlegum
He has to move to Mastodon
@juddlegum Yep, looks like I’d better shell out for a custom domain for my #Substack. Doubt #Twitter has the manpower to police all the external links.
@w7voa @juddlegum They can. They have to scrape the page to get the metadata to build the twitter card inside the tweet instead of just a raw link. That operate can probably detect a page generated by substack, unless substack is obfuscating the source on their end.
@w7voa like Judd said, Musk can close that loop if he wants to.
@juddlegum
If you think that there are issues with the platform and its owner's intentions than why in the world are you providing content to it may I ask?
@GreenFire @juddlegum The perfect question!

@cowboyminer @juddlegum
Thanks, if I wasn't banned from that foul site I'd ask them over there where they spend all their time complaining about it.

I mean you look at all of those lonely replies of people that are obviously staying on that platform because they find value in the content that people are providing. It's so maddening.

@GreenFire @juddlegum Agreed .. they don't understand that it is NOT Twitter any more, it's "Elon". It's a tough bandaid but pull it off, move elsewhere - your followers will follow you if you don't yo-yo back. They don't seem to understand this.

@cowboyminer @juddlegum
Yeah exactly. Look at @buitengebieden the other day.

The replies to that account after they got reinstated made it clear that if they had migrated away from that foul site thousands of people would have followed them.

@juddlegum Twitter is a National Security risk. Ask yourself why Republicans are focused on Tick Tock?
@juddlegum remember when it was mastodon? That's when I last logged in that cesspool.
@juddlegum I'm sure this will be part of the next Twitter Files "report" by Matt Taibbi.
@juddlegum @metacurity I don’t get what they are doing at Twitter but that’s funny to watch.
@feynman @juddlegum @metacurity 😂 it’s hard not to watch
@blackoutTC @feynman @juddlegum I’m so irritated that two utterly distasteful billionaires occupied as much of my mental real estate as they did this week.

@juddlegum It seems to be working fine now, but very interesting to see total views (300k+) vs rt, likes, and no comments at the time I checked it. (Hit a like and an rt while I was there of course). (Android system, in case it makes a difference)

Correction: rt and likes not holding, and not showing up on my own timeline. It shows positive colours, then reverts after a few seconds . Apologies for the mix up.

@juddlegum This has to strip Section 230 protection from Twitter. There's no way to pretend they are merely publishing posts and don't actively curate content for their users.
@juddlegum scorpion, fox, river something something
@juddlegum
It's way past time for you all to leave.
@juddlegum
You mean surpressing .. on twitter, not here. So we can talk about him behind his back, like good neighbors. . And a good Neighbors used to often say, ...
Surpress, Supress, Supress. in charactehr as Gomer Pyle.
#whoLetTheDadsOut

@juddlegum

I was able to quote-retweet that post, but I don't know if it was visible at that point to anyone but me. Definitely couldn't like or retweet it, and there were zero replies, which is demographically impossible without oppression.

@juddlegum can you imagine how the code looks @charles_ex @aloa5
@juddlegum Clearly, it made sense for me to leave over three months ago.
@juddlegum The phrase "unfair business practices" is likely becoming increasingly common this weekend.

@juddlegum

Fee Speech ≠ Free Speech.

Musk is confused.
