Guys I could actually cry right now. I bought myself some AirPods just as a treat to myself cuz I’ve been using cheap headphones. I’m setting them up yesterday and it says there’s a hearing aid setting. So I set it up thinking it can’t be that helpful. Well I put it in my ear and was so overwhelmed by the sounds that I almost cried, it’s been a solid year since I lost hearing on one side by 50% and suddenly I can hear a conversation 100 feet away and the zipper on my jacket 1/2

The day before yesterday we had to abandon our round trip through the archipelago off Turku by e-bike after the ferry service from Mossala was cancelled. On the way back, waiting for a ferry, I saw some lovely birds “doing stuff” on a small islet. I decided to test my OM-1’s bird mode.

I didn’t even see the chicks waiting for their parent to bring fish to them until I looked at the photo on my iPhone.

Popular Mechanics isn’t the most high brow publication but their latest article on a “controversial” rehash of steady state theory (proposed long ago by actual astronomers and then dismissed by evidence) is bizarre.

On the one hand, it is ridiculous than the DOJ is suing Apple over its “monopoly” but not Amazon (say). OTOH I really want Apple to offer better integration with other companies’ products. Messages, Airplay, etc.

And it will be good for Apple in the long run.

Unfortunately the really important monopoly over the next decade will be Reality OS and that lawsuit will probably be in 2041…
