@bkm having owned a Roomba I get it
@bkm great shot. Yours?

@arnimf

Nah... it's from the world of the internets.

@bkm Descriptive text: An iRobot store in the mall, the wall filled with iRobot Roomba cleaner robots while the staff member is mopping the floors normally without the aid of the technology.
@rolle @bkm All hail our robot cleaner overlords!
@bazbt3 @rolle @bkm it’s like a bald doctor specialist in baldness threats

@rolle @bkm

That's good of you to write it. I can see that people who are putting the alt-text and nicking this image are getting a lot of boosts.

#accessiblity = #Clout

@Homebrewandhacking

What? Accessibility is not clout! on the contrary. Writing alt texts for the posts that don't have them is an act of kindness. I'm sure nobody writes these clouting in mind and even if they do, good for them.

That is the most absurd thing I've read today. Writing descriptive texts help not only hard of seeing but hard of perceiving. If I'm going to boost a post that doesn't have alt text, I'm making sure it's in the comments. That's the least I can do.

@bkm

@rolle

Hey! Thanks! Good of you to identify yourself as deeply blockworthy!

If you thought about what clout meant you'd identify how pompous and foolish you sound! :)

@bkm wow the New models are goddamn realistic!

@bkm what a great picture. Could you add #AltTex?
@bkm Oh yeah, that was me, cleaning up after my roomba. Damn thing would zoom past a pile of crumbs and pretend to be “cleaning” the same corner 15 times. #ridiculous
@bkm thats one way to show me a company doesn't have faith in its product

@MoonshotErin

Don't be too hard on them, I think this is the mall cleaning crew. That being said, not a fan of these things.

@bkm Neither am I. I don't care for Roombas and more than once I've had a customer's one run under foot and drop me.

As for the mall cleaning crew person, I think she's doing a fine job.

@bkm :) Guess they don't like their own dogfood.
@bkm Sometimes the jokes just write themselves.
@bkm it wouldn't surprise me if someone stole the store use Roomba
@bkm It's probably she can't use the iRobot in the store because they are brand new and for sale, but funny nevertheless.
@bkm funny photo. The mopping is most likely a mall requirement of their tenants.
@bkm @ChrisPirillo Our future robot overlords gotta keep us in shape, for future work in the salt mines.
@bkm Roomba rule #1: never get high on your own supply.
@bkm Can I order this exact model? 🤔
@bkm when marketing and reality of performance don't meet. I've looked into their devices and they absolutely still need a human's constant attention with limited efficacy. Remember that the "don't smear dog poop all over the house" feature is still a luxury option.
@bkm @marcoarment Boy, those robots are getting more and more realistic 🤖
@bkm will she come to my place if my bot i broken? 😂

@bkm @marcoarment I traced that photo back to August 2021 (probably has older origins):

And it can be seen as well in this funny collection of ironic photos from November, 2021.

The store's floor is being swept by a human employee.

@bkm we’re worrying about ChatGPT and I guess the robots have already taken over.
@bkm you laugh, but what you don't know is that the roombas are busy making art and writing poetry.
@bkm never get high on your own supply
@bkm Wow, she looks so real!
@bkm they will never replace the human robot
@bkm today I learned that the roomba wasn’t a fad…
