Had a new idea for my A to Z blogging challenge.

I like discovering new music, and I like discovering new tales. So, I thought I'd ask all you people to send me some of their favorite songs, and I'll make it a challenge to match folktales to the songs. 😄 🎶 🎵

Any genre, no judgment 😊
Boosts welcome.
Thank you!

Edit: songs don't have to be folklore themed. It's fun if they are not :)

#folklore #folktales #FolkloreThursday #music #soundtrack

I love all you weird people, my YouTube algorithm will never be the same 😄 But I am already having fun with this challenge!

What I am learning is that the most off-the-wall music suggestions bring me the best ideas 😄 Keep them coming!

@TarkabarkaHolgy Oh wow—how many nominations you taking from a single commenter? I’ll limit myself to 5, but I could do 100 if you let me…

“No Roots” by Alice Merton
“Coming of Age” by Foster the People
“heavydirtysoul” by twentyonepilots
“Rise” by The Cult
“Silence” by Delirium (Feat. Sarah McLachlan)—make sure it’s the full 6:34 original version and not the radio edit or a remix or it utterly destroys the beauty of this masterpiece. It’s on their 1999 album “Karma”

@JeremytheJedi You can send more if you'd like :) I'll probably have to sort through them for alphabet, and also for inspiration :) Thank you!
@TarkabarkaHolgy You'll need a folktale about heroic Jacobite spies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sHbwM24i2c

I don't know anything about what's behind this song but this version has a hella groove. Madam Mariama from Gambian griot Juldeh Camara, accompanied by two English guys, in a Scots Gaelic pub in Glasgow, filmed for a Scots language music programme.
I can recommend loads of clips from around the world, but you're inundated already. If you're curious to hear more give me a shout.

@TarkabarkaHolgy dear Dr. ZCV I recommend this song

https://youtu.be/YD1RWUut6ZM

it’s my all time favourite pop song, for a number of reasons
the rusty vocal
the ingenious little piano lick
the surprising harmony
the divine guitar solo
the special lyrics
the sheer length of it
