Ever since Musk bought Twitter, I haven’t bought a single thing I didn’t need. I’ve probably ordered something from Amazon no more than 3x since then and they were all essentials. Not in any sort of financial strain. Just glad we prepared for what we thought would eventually come as a family and as a company. And all the support from the community has kept our spirits super high. You guys are the best. 🙂

@mark You guys deserve all the praise that you receive, really!

It’s been so cool getting an insight into how you guys work and the total transparency has been a breath of fresh air, thank you!

@mark that’s great to hear! Still sucks it was handled the way it was. I knew, deep down, after Musk bough Twitter and began chasing any revenue stream he could find… the days of using Tweetbot as it existed were numbered. My optimistic self wanted to believe the terms of the API would change, prohibit you guys from overly customizing the feed, pushing ads, requiring the default experience to be the algorithmic feed (maybe not even offering chronological). A total suspension? Crazy fucked.
@mark I miss Tweetbot every day and can’t wait for Ivory 🥰
@mark there’s a lot of people wanting to support you as soon as you let us pay por @ivory

@mark sending y'all love, which you definitely more than deserve right now! 💙

Keep moving forward and your head held high! 🙏🏻

@mark Excited to throw money your way in the form of Ivory.

@mark Thanks for having built joyful and delightful apps for our devices for years.

Every time people ask why I prefer iOS over Android (and that has been many times over the years!) I always tell them that I can only get the apps I like for iOS. They usually ask which apps I can't get for Android and I always answer Tweetbot. True story.

Can't wait to buy Ivory whenever it's out and I'm crossing my fingers that you go for a quite high subscription price.

@simonbs @mark I concur. Happy to pay for software of that calibre and support.
@Geekmoose @simonbs @mark same here. Keeping my Tweetbot subscription for as long as its available as well…
@simonbs @mark Same for me. Tweetbot was always the example I gave in this debate.
@mark you guys deserve it. Thanks for the amazing software.

@mark I wasn’t planning on switching to Mastodon, but ever since Tweetbot got shut down, Twitter became unbearable. I don’t want to be there anymore.

Thank you for a wonderful app that I enjoyed for years 💛

@mark this is such a nightmare - and so unfair for you. I’m on the Ivory alpha and ready to pay/ subscribe. You’ve got this ✊🏼
@mark the software you make has been great; recent Twitter changes has me wondering if are there other avenues that you’d consider developing outside of social media? I think ivory has shown you’d have a lot of support if it’s a path you chose
@joeb454 We've invested too much time into Tweetbot/Ivory to just let it die. And we really enjoy building these apps. When we have time we will update Calcbot and Pastebot. 🙂 It's hard to make time to work on a brand new app.

@mark oh, totally, I wasn’t suggesting letting them die. I’m just thinking more when ivory is a bit more stable, are there other *bot apps that you’ve considered along the way that might now see the light of day.

Either way, excited to see what comes from @tapbots in future!

Loving @ivory too 💛 (sorry to say that I stuck with the original yellow icon, but I have enjoyed seeing the 3D mascot come to life!)

@mark I have been using Tweetbot since it came out back in the day. I’m pretty sure it has been my most used/opened app ever since, hands down. Even if I was not planning on using Mastodon, I‘d still buy @ivory, just to support you guys. That‘s how much value I feel Tweetbot has provided to me over the years. You do *not* deserve how you are being treated right now!

@mark
That’s sort of sad to read. Hope you and your family are still fine.

Maybe you could release Ivory with a minumum subscription fee, but with the option to pay more if the user wants to support you guys.

Would allow you to spend money on fun stuff 😃 You deserve to!

@alwin Didn't want it to sound sad. haha. Just meant I've been super cautious ever since he took over. 🙂 But I find great joy in riding my bikes which I'll always be able to do. 😁
@mark Tweetbot was one of two apps that held me from switching to Android for years. The community supports you because you deserve it 🤍

@mark you guys are the best. You’re setting the standard of what social media apps should be. I’ve been a happy costumer for many years and I will continue to be 😊

I’m happy to support you in any way I can!

@mark looking forward to buying Ivory and support you guys. I’ve spent so much time in Tweetbot, and loved every second of it :)
@mark all of us when @ivory finally hits the App Store:

@mark you are the best.

Hope ivory subscription will help you and your team.

Not sure about the scale of user base but definitely there are lots of interest even for higher subscription price.

@mark Can’t wait to (1) start my annual subscription for @ivory and to (2) buy all of the extra IAP novelty purchases (please) which mostly exist as a way for the community to stuff some ‘F-U-Space-Karen Cash’ into the pockets of @mark and @paul 😘
@mark put Ivory on the App Store so I can throw money at you again! ❤️
@mark #tweetbot made twitter tolerable. So sad to see it broken by shortsighted idiots. #ivory will help iron out some of the wrinkles in this platform. You and @paul make valuable software that makes user’s lives better. Can’t wait till ivory ships!
@mark Your attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed and I wish Ivory the best success before and after launch!
@mark Cannot wait to pay you for Ivory! Tapbots makes wonderful software 🥰
@mark excited to give you money for @ivory!
@mark Does Apple allow you to offer a means of subscription that doesn’t get processed via the App Store and doesn’t end up giving Apple a 15% / 30% cut?
What I’m saying is that if there could be a way to ensure you get all of my eventual subscription fee, then I’d be happy to take advantage of it!
@andcam nope. But it’s been this way since we started our company so it doesn’t really bother us.

@mark Tweetbot is and has been the gold standard of apps. I couldn't be more excited to support this next chapter of Tapbots 🤖!

Best of luck with the work on Ivory, I can't wait to try it out!

@mark can’t wait to subscribe to Ivory!
@mark Ready to spend my money whenever Ivory is released 👍🏼
@mark people forget how much work goes in to making apps, and you’ve kept Tapbots apps fresh and relevant for over 11 years. Looking forward to @ivory
@mark Can I put in a pre-order somewhere? ;)
@mark I’ve used Tweetbot since the beginning, and like everyone else on this thread, I can’t thank you enough for it. I’ve spent far more time with your app — hours a day for over a decade, if I’m being honest — than I should admit. My Twitter header photo is of our cat Peanut (now sadly gone) resting his head on my iPad with Tweetbot loaded (https://twitter.com/MysteryPollster/header_photo). I would have paid a lot more for it than you guys asked. Can’t wait to send you $$ for Ivory.

@mark Bought CalcBot the other day thinking about this (also because I wanted a watch calc). Plus supporting the NTX devs/designer.
@mark I’m keeping my Tweetbot subscription until I can replace it with an Ivory one. Cheering you on!
@mark now that Tweetbot is dead, it’s made me realize there are not many apps that have had as much time on screen for me. Phenomenal work. The instant you release Ivory, I’ll throw money your way. But also, since I know you’ll likely be releasing it in a less than ideal state intially, I’ll happily hit a button to “support future development efforts” if it’s there (aka fuck space karen). Or, come in at a higher subscription price. Happy to support it.
@mark I did cancel my Tweetbot sub (but will reinstate if bird site makes clear they will play nice). And, ready to sub for Ivory when it’s released!
@mark hey mark my Tweetbot renews in February & am happy to re-up for the v modest fee as a thank you for all the years, but it made me wonder: how soon can we pay you for Ivory?
@mark I’ll be getting @ivory as soon as it hits the App Store. The early access version is already pretty darn good.
@mark I’m all in on Ivory sight (as yet) unseen and fully cognizant it will be very 1.0 & happy to pay. I hope Space Karen backs off his b.s. for your sake but I’m kinda glad this weasel move may further erode his power.

I’m looking forward to giving you money for ivory, @mark . Be it a single purchase or a subscription.

@tchambers

@mark absolutely cannot wait to throw money at you for Ivory. You’ve got a whole bunch of already happy customers here waiting to reward you for your hard work. Thank you both for this and for making Twitter so useable for so long.
@mark thank you for the raking the risk as entrepreneurs guys. You work has given thousands of us real value and joy.

@mark There are few things as fraught and stressful as getting out of an abusive relationship. You will look back on this period as a fortunate catharsis. If Elon had not committed this final offense who knows how long your life would be turned inside out. Now you can make a psychic break, which might cost you some $$$ in the near term, but will put you on a path to a bright future. Fuck the past, look forward, you're much better off without him.

#twittermigration

@mark looking forward to supporting your company with Ivory!
@mark you and your team make great apps. It’s a shame what the billionaire baby did to the entire Third-Party development community
@mark I’ll pay 10x/yr for ivory if that’s what it takes to keep it going. The community has your back.
@mark You and @paul are the best. Thank you for making twitter so much better. Missing tweetbot terribly but am looking forward to @ivory 😊💕
@mark Lots of fediverse apps needs mobile apps. Just throwing that out there. Lots of potential.
@mark l can’t wait for @ivory 🔥 and i miss Tweetbot 🥲 first thing I will do pay 💰 for ivory from first day @paul
@mark Indies united strong 🤝
