The regular human stories from @auschwitzmuseum are a stark reminder of why we must never forget. But the banal bureaucracy of this horror is chilling. 'Just another form to sign off', but what it actually meant was 394 lives...

Attached: 1 image 19 November 1943 | A selection took place in the female camp in Auschwitz II-Birkenau. 394 Jewish prisoners were selected. During the transport to the gas chambers, two women tried to escape: Bina Braun and Rosa Theberger. They were shot. The remaining women were murdered in the gas chambers. The list of selected prisoners was signed by the camp commander SS-Untersturmführer Franz Hössler. The document was secretly smuggled out from the camp. The picture of the page with Hössler's signature.
