Is there anything more hypocritical than a Republican quoting MLK?
@godpod when the FBI tweets his quotes.
@thebeehammer @godpod True but the majority are republican 🤷🏻‍♀️
@SassyMina @thebeehammer @godpod @gop quoting the bible or what "Jesus says".
@godpod they feed off the hypocrisy, it excites them
@godpod A republican qouting Jesus is a pretty close contender.

@godpod Maybe a Republican quoting Jesus?

@godpod

Is this a trick question?

@godpod . . . or more patronizing?
@godpod That's pretty close minded. One of MLK's daughters is a Republican. Why would Republicans not respect the great words of MLK?
@baronesstemplar @godpod
If you don't already know the answer to that, you haven't been paying attention for the last few years.
@godpod those white Supremacists need to keep his name and quotes out of their filthy mouths
@godpod Reagan opposing the MLK holiday, then approving it. Then quoting MLK to subvert equal opportunity, because it hurt white people.
@godpod like they say, even the Devil quotes Scripture; so, there's precedent.

@godpod

@godpod Yes, a Republican moving their lips.
@godpod my favorite thing is when they quote MLK and then look at those of us who are pointing out inequities and use his words to try and shut us up. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼

@godpod

When they discuss the sanctity of marriage as they drive off with their mistress.

@godpod Hypocrisy is the cornerstone of the GOP
@godpod politicians quoting anybody is hypocritical.
@godpod They call it CRT in the classroom. But they want to score political points with MLK quotes as if it proves they aren’t racist.
@godpod Nope… it’s actually infuriating.
@godpod
Especially since they didn't even want today to be a holiday for him.
@godpod I don't know how they shape their mouths to say anything good, even the constitution!!
@godpod I think that's definitely performative, as you say, but also linked to facts such as Democratic Gov. Wallace's shameless racism. What's overlooked is that while Dixiecrats were broadly racist, so were most Republican leaders of the time. It was in fact events such as the showdown between Democrat Wallace and Democrat LBJ that led to Dixiecrats joining the GOP, depleting the Democratic Party of racists and concentrating them in the GOP.
@godpod i didnt know they drank MLK
@godpod Maybe when they quote Your son, Lord.

@godpod

A Republican quoting Jesus?

@godpod Eyes of God

A far distant flame
Creates the blazing fire
In the eyes of God

Do not be deceived as it is not from a mortal message that you will receive this gift of sight and task. Words cannot convey it to you and no one can know it for you. Rest with the assurance that fear, hate or loathing cannot come from the spirit of God.

@godpod

Attempting to nominate Daniels, an African-American to be SOTH.

@godpod I think the edited Bible quotes rank.
@godpod MLK, Sr. endorsed Nixon in 1960. He switched allegiances after the Kennedy admin. made some calls that got MLK, Jr. released from jail.
@godpod - A Republican accusing Democrats of something that they themselves, are in fact guilty of doing first and worse.

@godpod
