Fascinating how the Florida GOP Chair was pulled over drunk off his rocker, with a loaded firearm in his car, & with silver bars(?!)—& he was calmly arrested without weapons even once being drawn.

Wish Philando Castile & Sandra Bland would’ve got that same treatment while sober.

Trans people ultimately represent something dangerous and uncomfortable: the idea of self-acceptance.

Behind every anti-trans thought and word and deed is a prevailing fear of the self. It’s not just about gender identity. It’s every way in which we are all conditioned to be someone we’re not.

For many, trans people shatter the arbitrary importance of conformity, reminding any given person to embrace parts of their authentic self they buried long ago.

And they’re terrified of digging that up.

I got hit with a wave of this:

They seem to come out in election years, almost like a stealth campaign to elect Republicans.

I assume that there are people in that wave who are genuinely confused, but ignorance can also be dangerous.

It worked in 2000. Blaming the Dems helped elect George W.

I block them.

I’ve been thinking about “manufactured crises” in today’s media environment.

Remember the special master case? This was when Judge Cannon allowed for a special master and the appellate court said “nope.”

In the end, the drama hardly created a ripple: At least no more than frequently happens in complex cases when one side decides to challenge something.
