You do NOT want to be on their bad side. It's very personally expensive and exhausting.

Sometimes he loses, most of the time, people don't sue.

It's more cost efficient to provide hours of speculation to get those SAME advertising dollars vs. reporting NEW news issues that usually require investigative reporting (An expense)
The current corporate controlled, capitalistic business model for our daily news consumption simply doesn't work for the consumer. Smaller, individual news providers of the past, now broken, were the backbone of our news information system. Today we only hear what advertisers that fund these huge media corporations want to pay for.
