I learnt several things from that walk:
1: I really need to better plan that kind of activity next time, because there were some flaws in my walk that I could have avoided by studying where I would go.
2: Nature is beautiful. I didn't really "learn" that, but I often need a reminder of it. However I did walk entirely on roads, I think next time I'll find paths that go through forests too, instead of having to avoid cars during the entire walk.
3: The fragility of human constructions. For what I believe to be the first time, I truly felt that nature surrounded cities, and not the opposite. Mind you, I've always lived in a major city, and it's easy for me to get used to the overwhelming quantity of buildings, and forget that those places used to be empty of any buildings, cars and plastic bags. The human species's impact on nature can be felt everywhere on Earth, but hugely reducing it is far from being impossible. It is still time to bring nature back into our land, and to live in harmony with it, rather than exploiting it to fulfill whatever dream a capitalist may have.
