It may not look like much, but this is the tree where my dad’s ashes are buried. The tiny redwood tree that he is planted with, is starting to grow and put out tiny little green needles. In spite of the pain and suffering from the storm, the idea that something small and fragile continued to grow, fills my heart with some degree of hope
I am the only woman on the management team I'm on, as well as the only queer person. And I'm trans... it's like the Trojan horse of representation.

Recent storm happenings on my property. Sigh. At least it isn't anything critical.
In today's work meeting, folks were discussing what they got done over the holiday break.
"Yeah, so we had a circuit go out in the house, which had to be troubleshot and fixed. Then, the flooding in the basement needed to be addressed, with pushing water out. We also had to dig drainage ditches. After that, we installed a new electric stove."
"Wow, you did all that over break?"
"Nope, we did all that just on Monday."
