@indiealexh @terberlo yeah definitely East Coast. Seeing a lot of graffiti on the brick building to the left in a way that i have not seen in Manchester so retracting that idea.

Sometimes I feel our society has degenerated into concatenations of bad conceptual art, as each generation paints over the graffiti of the previous one..

The teacher asked why he thought that was an issue since my son is white with blond hair (not knowing that he has 3 black brothers, so really chose the wrong kid to say that to, even though it should never have been said!). My son has decided to go on to study so that he will be able to take over that teacher's job.

Unfortunately, in the South anyways, the admin/school boards in many places prefer the sanitized versions because they don’t make the very conservative students uncomfortable, and so don’t cause trouble. Our admin told our lit teachers the last two years we could not discuss any political issues at all in our classes.

@johnettesnuggs @garystark @terberlo in England as long as the work needed to get the exam questions correct is covered there's a lot more freedom about what else you teach alongside. Also as long as you put the correct answers in your exams you can also include extra without losing any grades. The last few years or more of university students have made it clear that the bad needs to be learnt, not just the 'good'.
