It's not "punching" the fascist that affects the change; it's after the fascist gets punched, when he goes home to cry about it, and all of his friends and family say "good, you fucking Nazi" that forces them to introspect a little bit - they either quit, or double down harder.

Personally? I think it's pretty counterproductive to waste all this time trying to figure out why angsty crackers support white supremacy and fascism; but ACTUAL deradicalization, doesn't look like giving nazis handies
