"...remember the 'mirror' and be the master of your thought processors?'" There aren't enough stress inducers in modern society we need to create new ones? "Psychological maladaptations?" That is linguistic legerdemain. You either adapt or you do not.

The US needs a Democratic leader who will call out the plutocracy and the old men and women of either party who refuse to attack it because their self interest is wrapped in accumulated or inherited wealth, and the advantages it buys. .
