I am once again locked out of Twitter.

Twitter just locked my account after I asked Twitter's head of Trust & Safety Ella Irwin why I haven't been informed of what tweet broke Twitter's policies

Seems they forgot to force me to delete the tweet the first time, like they did the other suspended journalists.

This is the tweet they want me to delete to get back into my account:

@MattBinder why don't you people give up on Twitter? Lets start here anew.
@MattBinder @mond it’s a process. And Elon needs to be investigated and reported on as he is affecting our world in a very real way.
@mond @MattBinder He has nearly 100k followers on twitter. I have extremely high hopes for Mastodon, but I completely understand why someone with a bigger audience doesn't just pack up straight away. This being said Matt already has 22k followers 😎 So hopefully soon it'll be easy to just say "screw twitter" as a public figure.
@Medallish @mond @MattBinder I think the difference is that those large followers could be bots. I think here the engagement is real. I actually have a better engagement here than on the 🐩 site .. although I wish I had more responses than boosts or favorites
@mond @MattBinder Because the plan for Musk and his supporters is not to stop with just twitter. They will try to buy other social media platforms too.
@ColdBrewCoffee @MattBinder Well, noone can't buy Mastodon.
@mond @MattBinder So instead conservatives will start a movement to falsely accuse mastadon of enabling pedophilia and get it banned in the US.
@mond @MattBinder the audience is still largely on Twitter.
@brianhogg @MattBinder They would follow. Journalists are user traffickers if I may say so.
@mond @MattBinder sure, but they haven’t followed yet.
@brianhogg @MattBinder You think Twitter has started with a billion users?

@mond @MattBinder no, and they don’t have anywhere near that many now.

I meant that right now most of their audience is still on Twitter, so for right now it makes sense to try to maintain a presence there as well. But that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t say “come to mastodon.”

@brianhogg @mond @MattBinder Why would they follow if journalists are still on Twitter? The majority of the audience won’t move ahead of the content.
@mond @brianhogg @MattBinder but in the meantime their livelihood is at stake. All those followers is how independent journalists make money.
@mond @MattBinder it make sense to still use Twitter until this platform gets more users. He has a much wider audience to reach on Twitter. I do think more people will switch to alternatives as people they follow get banned for the stupidest reasons.
@mond @MattBinder because journalists need Twitter to work, that's where the people are. They are not early adopters, they follow the masses.
@mond @MattBinder I think people are any to but it’s less open still. Harder to go from place to place. I for one am still having trouble exporting a lot of my old contacts.
@MattBinder Its becoming a hellscape there!
@Mountaincoyote @MattBinder it’s always been a hellscape. I’m strictly on here because I think even though twitter is ruining humanity , Elon musk owning it is even worse.
@MattBinder I can't imagine what a dreadful human being you would have to be to be head of #TrustAndSafety for #Twitter - There's a self-delusional interview I'd love to read.
@Lorry @MattBinder it must have been strange before but just an outright fever-dream right now
@indlovu_encinci @MattBinder Leave your #ethics, your #soul and any sense of #decency at the door where it will be destroyed utterly.
@MattBinder Twitter is quickly going down the tubes. I know mastodon is confusing at first but I think it can work as an alternative
@MattBinder So why not just stay here and stop bending the knee for #ElonMusk ?
@adde @MattBinder At the very least, I’d like to see journalists and others invest some time here. I’m part of the Twitter migration, but in order for me to want to follow someone, I need to see them invested in being a part of the Mastodon community, not just using this as a last resort to complain about Musk. Fill out the bio, start interacting.
@MattBinder It's easy to understand what's going on. Elon Musk wants to hide almost everything bad about him and to continue to do the things for his own purposes including the breaking the Twitter - that means that if he wants, he will perm ban the whole Twitter with all peoples in it and left only him in it with his people who still works for him and those people must listen to him because he's the CEO unfortunately. This is why is this happened when you ask Twitter workers 😔
@MattBinder Dec 14. Was that before the Thursday Night Massacre?

@MattBinder So... they just banned journalists who tagged @elonjet 's Twitter, even though they had already banned that account?

But also, lol, the ban, un-ban, and re-ban really gives the sense of a well-run organization, doesn't it? I can practically hear Elon yelling down the hallway to, "Just do what I said!"

Marcus Hutchins :verified: (@[email protected])

I really despise this idea some people have about the need to stay on Twitter "to fight". To fight what? This isn't a war where ground is won or lost. The platform is wholly and unquestionably owned by the person you're trying to fight against. He has shown he doesn't care about loss of advertisers, loss of respect, loss of users. Twitter is now nothing but his personal alt-right cult. The only valid reason to stay is to assist others in leaving. If you're generating any other forms of content, you're simply enabling him to radicalize *your* userbase.

Infosec Exchange
@MattBinder So just @'ing ElonJet will get you suspended for doxxing? Even when they blocked that NYPost Hunter Biden article, they didn't suspend accounts for mentioning The NY Post in a tweet.
@MattBinder Never trust mad fascists when they talk about the freedom of speech.

@MattBinder Try what @tony has done.

I know it's tough when you work for a company, but set your Twitter for major announcements only and direct your followers to fediverse.

There are services like https://spacekaren.sucks that can redirect to mastodon, or generate a QR code and pin it there (https://qr-code-generator.org)

Space Karen Sucks

Free speech really should be free. To bypass the new censorship regime at twitter, use this URL shortener to link to Mastodon or other censored destinations. Considering recent policy decisions on twitter, please be aware that use of links generated from this site may constitute a violation of their policy.

@sub_o
I wonder what life events pushed Musk towards the last refuge of the scoundrel. He just have been caught doing something.
@MattBinder @tony @Ekinnajay

@noyes @MattBinder @tony @Ekinnajay Was he ever a good person? Was Kanye ever a good person?

Or is it because since they are rich now, with support of far-right politicians, they are embolden to spit out whatever it's on their mind.
Plus, the threat of being taxed always triggers defensive / fascistic mode.

@MattBinder Why can’t *they* delete the tweet?
@davexmit @MattBinder because the conditions says that you admit guilt and abandon recourse by deleting it yourself
@MattBinder This is Elonball, and the only winning move is not to play his game. Play a different game.

@MattBinder Appeal it on the grounds that it's newsworthy and that Twitter has previously made exceptions to it's rules for newsworthiness.

For example, Twitter created a new rule to exempt Trump from harassment and incitement because his violative tweets were newsworthy.

@MattBinder Maybe, just maybe, you could focus on delivering content that’s not about the birdpage? Most people left Twatter because they were fed up with its content and owner. The other option is to put a CW on your bitching-about-the-birdpage-Toots. Just a thought.
@MattBinder Fuck Twitter. Completely replaceable. Like fighting to live in Death Valley when you could leave any time you want.
@MattBinder
He's a fascist POS. He's getting off on the power.

@MattBinder I hope that the European Union will threaten of "thermonuclear war" #SpaceKaren :
Step 1 - big fines
Step 2 - Ban of Twitter in the EU

They have done this with Russian medias, they can do the same for Twitter.

@MattBinder suggestion
 journalists should focus on the bots liking his bs
@trcfwtt @MattBinder definitely way above 50%. Although as others have said ‘em can just tell his people to “make this poll show 12 million likes for what I want.”
@MattBinder Just stop using that hellhole IMO. It's basically an abusive relationship. Tell everyone to move and follow you here or elsewhere.
@MattBinder @mmasnick constant humiliation of people like you drives engagement there. His fans want a spectacle. That is what he wants, and he’ll milk it as he know no matter how many times people get banned they’ll always come crawling back.

@MattBinder

No, no, no, you don't get it. Its

@MattBinder why do you want to be back in that toxic place?
@MattBinder you shouldn't - you should force a move and publish your content anywhere else. It's time to draw a line: what's ethical and morally acceptable within ourselves? Writing in a place managed by Musk isn't for me. It shouldn't be for a lot of people.
@MattBinder It's maybe time for you to stop relying on Twitter? This sort of abuse was always on the cards, and giving into their demands is simply normalising authoritariansism.
