Several people criticized him for this egotistical and useless display...
...G-d rest their souls.

You’ve got to be kidding me! What happened to free speech Elon?
@JeffHicks @joshuatopolsky Possibly based on manual reporting? The link above shows as “sensitive” for me when I view it logged out but when logged in. If I view my own post just created it does not show as sensitive (yet).
“‘If you’re wondering about Mastodon’s impact, Twitter is now automatically marking links to mastodon as “sensitive” (aka dangerous) and forcing users who get them to “appeal” the claim. In case Elon didn’t seem desperate enough for you already…’ test: https://t.co/2PkLbmDw0r”
@joshuatopolsky @JeffHicks
It happened to me.
The tweets I had previously posted-- and posted AFTER the flagged tweet-- about #Mastodon are unflagged. The one that I tweeted in response to an Elton John tweet was flagged.
Interestingly, #Elon had personally responded to Elton's tweet after I had tweeted. When I go to click on my tweet, it says it's hidden "The tweet you reported." (So supposedly I reported my own tweet?!?)
My *theory* is that #Musk himself saw my tweet and flagged it.
Interesting, as long as I remain locked, none of this stuff happens to me. I'd be banned by now otherwise for the stuff I've tweeted re: Musk and twitter lol
I use wheretofind.me and pop that in my twitter and other profiles (see my profile here for an example) so then it's an indirect link which twitter is less likely to see.
Had to test this out myself and lol!!!!
I doubt they’ll like my appeal. While I did edit out my original f-bomb, I did ask if Elmo was “so effing cucked that he is afraid of the word Mastodon?”
I expect a suspension, but it will be worth it, I think!
@PhilipMartin @joshuatopolsky @TimH
Just went to check (00.12 UK time) and sure enough:
@TimH @ClaireCopperman @joshuatopolsky
Haha! Thanks for checking! I haven’t gone to The Fowl Place today to see if they responded to my appeal. They didn’t suspend me over my insult to Dear Leader Elmo either, though, so I guess, much like the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, we’ll call it a draw?
me, on my next brief visit to the site
@TimH Wow.
@TimH @joshuatopolsky So much for the free-speech, free markets posturing.
Now think that someone was tasked with implementing this filter. I wonder if @joshuatopolsky has any contacts left at birdsite that could fill in the blanks on how that request came down and how it managed to get to the top of the priority pile…
